It’s one way to keep the sparks out of the solvent tank. I’d say it’s ok.
I took the guards off of mine but it’s ok it stops pretty quick when my finger gets jammed in it.

I had a delivery to make to the docks at Liverpool,the guy told me I would need hard hat,gloves,glasses and boots.I just drove away,if it is that dangerous why risk it  Geoff |

That's what all the old timers with less than ten fingers told me. But, they also have less than ten fingers.. |

I have an old Craftsman grinder setup. If I stuck a finger in it the damn thing would eat my hand... geoffh -They just wanted you to pay someone to deliver it  |
