I built this from parts. The engine is from a 2008 F-act 50 2t. Here is my issue. The fuel tank goes in the foot board like a Ruckus. The 50cc GY-6 engine that came in the Ruck Clone frame used a pulse fuel pump. With my Minarelli 70 cc horizontal, I get more of a vacuum than a pulse from the vacuum port on the carb. I have tried 3 different pulse pumps, the last being a Mikuni. None will move enough fuel to run the engine properly. In the attached picture, I have the fuel tank mounted in the trunk on the rear rack. With gravity feed it runs very well. With the CVT not yet tuned properly, It went 44 mph. I read that on a 2 stroke, you need a line from the crankcase to get a proper pulse. I don't want to take the engine back apart and locate/drill a fitting for a pulse port. I was thinking that if I made a spacer to go under the reed block, I could drill and tap a port into that since it would effectively be in the crankcase volume. Crazy? Or should I use an electric pump? If so, what SPECIFIC brand/model is proven to work?

You shouldn't need to take everything apart. Ought to be able to carefully drill matching holes in the intake flange and Reed block to achieve that. It's what guys running tillotsons do.

If you pull the reed block and fill the cavity with clay you should be able to drill and tap for a vacuum source without risk of debris entering the crankcase.

Great idea. I'll give that a shot!

Lol... only pic I can find where the carb isn’t mounted straight to the reed block the went into the reed adaptor.... this thread shows where they drilled through for the pulse signal though. www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,4170971 and I forgot that the question mark in the link breaks it on the forum for some reason.... here... preview.tinyurl.com/y45l2fnb

Stock ruckus pump won't work without the ruckus ECU. The ECU sends a pulsed signal. Not sure if you could make it work off of the AC side of the harness or not

Thanks! I like that idea best. Ordered! I never thought of a Ruckus pump. I assumed it was fuel injected. My Elite 110 and PCX 150 were both injected.

Ok order cancelled. Back to the drawing board.

Electric fuel pump and pressure regulator. I have no idea how low the correct fuel pressure for our little carbs would be. I'd imagine that's why vacuum pulse, or electronic pulse like the Ruckus, tend to be the standard.

Look for Honda Bali fuel pump. I also use 70cc in mine, pump flows enough fuel an lasts about 200 years.
