Hello from OC MD. Currently ride a 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA and 2004 Honda Nighthawk CB250. I recently traded a 2017 Honda NC700X for the GSX1250FA and I miss the onboard storage and "frunk" of the NC. I am considering a scooter maybe a Burgman 200 or 400 as I commute 8 miles into OC for work year round. Ride Safe.

Welcome to the forum. The Suzuki is a different type of bike the the NC. Great motor though.

I'm from about 70 miles from OC. Was just down there for the car show last weekend on my two-stroke scoot ( LINK). How do you come into OC? If I rode in from the DE side, I'd prob get a 49cc and beat traffic at the beach. That would be kinda tough if you come in by 90 or 50 though. I see small scoots on in West OC, but don't see anyone venturing out on the shoulder of Rt50 beyond there and I'm not sure it's legal. I definitely wouldn't take a 50 on Rt90. The Burgman 200 should get the job done, but personally I'd go with the 400 if going to motorcycle class scooters and any potential highway use just to have headroom for however I wanted to ride. Go sit on a 400 if you can. They actually feel pretty light still. Both are way too big to fool anyone that it's a 50 in the bus lane.

I live in Bishopville and take RT90 in daily. I also enjoy riding my bicycle and would ride that in if I could. If I came in on Rt54 it would double my commute mileage.
The highway portion of my commute is one of the reasons for the Maxi scoot 2nd reason it I am also a large/fat dude. I make my CB250 unhappy (maxes out around 65-70 with me on it). I think a Maxi scoot with FI would drag me up to highway speed better than the CB250.

You may also want to check out the XMAX 300. That little sucker can see about 90 GPS from what I've seen online. For comparison, my TMAX 500 with ~15 more HP just hits 100 GPS and it's MSRP was approaching double what they want for the 300. Kymco also makes some pretty good big scoots. IIRC Continental Cycles is a Kymco dealer, but I don't know that they carry any of the bigger ones.

Wow! So many Marylanders! Welcome crabhab! I have Maryland roots. Born at University Hospital in Baltimore. Had family in Bel Air. (Uncle was test pilot) I don't get back often, however. Everyone gone to WV/SC.
Ocean City!

They are pushing the Genuine brand which I like. I need to snag a used maxi scooter from a retiree in lower DE.

I do miss the crabs! Had Dungeness in San Francisco. We eat Slipper crabs here in Thailand....and there are a few soft shell (shedding, moulting) types. "Mud crabs" they call them. MMmmmm. Done as a yellow curry with garlic and red chili's. Also common in Pad Thai. Bhu Paht Pong Karee

Someday hopefully I will run across one and be able to get it. It sure seems like it would be a perfect scooter in my book anyway.
