Hello All! first time posting here.I am from NY & I bought this used in April in PA & done a few things to it. A small bluetooth amp (7A max draw) with speakers, low ampage air horns (8a max) & changed all lighting to LED to lower the draw overall. well,, I noticed the other day the bike is not charging. & it has a new battery (& the biggest I could fit) & was charged properly. I know the it has an 8 Coil Magneto/Stator but i hear of an 11 pole upgrade. because of the "extras" i have on the bike,, i would like to up the charging. I see you tube videos on how simple it is to change,,, but they usually say in the reviews,, you have other things that need to be done. Can someone please explain what I need to do? And,, is it worth it to do?
Thanks in advance
Paul

Paul, welcome to the forum changing the stator is not a big job,use the directory (over on the left of this screen)to find some good videos to help you, that said if your scoot starts and runs I would leave it alone,if it ain't broke.

The 11 pole stator swap may also require a matching flywheel, a 7 pin regulator/rectifier, and re-wiring some of the scoot. You will get more charging power, but if it's worth it kinda depends on each situation. If you feel comfortable rewiring some stuff and want the extra juice, sure it may be worth it to you. Some would rather not mess with all of that and instead reduce load. I doubt that it comes in anywhere near the max rating, but if the amp actually draws 7A, it will be too much to sustain even with a conversion I'd imagine. I had a stereo on mine years ago and found that it would draw about 1A. With a stock stator, it wouldn't take much more than that and maintain the battery. The horns are prob not an issue unless you use them a lot. A honk here and there shouldn't have much effect on your battery/charging system. Your setup may be fine, aside from something like a bad stator or regulator/rectifier. I would start there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZbg-krvZM4

1st, thanks for the welcome. Yea,, atm,, battey is no longer charging.. I will look into the videos & see,,, I do car audio & security installations professionally for a living so it should not be a big deal. but, knowing bout the flywheel is a plus & the regulator as the one i have now is a 4 pin. so ill look later @ that video as right now im off to look @ a car as mine is wrecked from a rear end collision into me @ 40mph. car is drivable but,,,in 2 months it will NOT pass inspection. Skooter is a backup,,,just in case. But i WAS having fun til this happened. Thank god i put a digital voltmeter on it a month ago,,, started to see it no longer charging & knew something was wrong.
