hi all.
I picked up an 08 echarm..
it is definitely a piece..
will post pic tomorrow.
I got from a guy in Cleveland .
he had bought it new he put about 3 k miles and then it
was stolen.
they picked it clean and ditched it.
now I have it. it is basically just the motor frame and a few components I am going to strip the wiring harness down to stator cdi coil and spark plug.
I do not know yet if it is a rectifier or regulator but it is there.
once I get it streamlined wiring harness wise i'll figure out to get it started.
it is water cooled engine but not efi. the rad is missing but if I can not get it started it really does not matter. if it does run i'll use a heater core for the rad and rig a fan...
kind of excited .. some of the reviews say it went 70 mph stock.

1st report: after streamlining the wire harness i believe i have just the essential components to get spark.
i have isolated the stator wires ...three yellow wires going into a regulator. and two wires (very thin wires )black and red wires in a separate plug ..that connects to a plug that has black and green wires coming from it. ALL YELLOW WIRES SHOW POWER the regulator... has three wires coming out of one bundle has a black a green and a red. (with the battery in line) the red is hot green is ground and black is a dead wire..(will come back to that,)
the cdi the cdi plug is a 6 pin but the wire harness connection plug to the cdi has 5 wires.
black with yellow stripe (coil)
a black wire (that i think is ac in ) dead wire a black with a white stripe
a green with a black stripe and a green with a red stripe.
the coil . black with yellow stripe . and a green.
the solenoid .
of coarse a main ground and a main power going in.
coming out is a yellow with red stripe (power to activate solenoid )
green (but has white stripe) and a red constant power wire going out a red wire with a white strip that goes to the reg.
SO THE RUB IS … NO SPARK AT THIS TIME. THE REG HAS THE DEAD BLACK WIRE AND THE STATOR HAS THE 2 WIRE (RED AND BLACK ) THAT SEEM TO HAVE NOTHING COMING FROM THEM.
this is a lc engine so it is not a simple matter to just look at the stator. th so i have just used a tester light but i will ohm them out later .
i am a little confused as to why the red and black wires plug into a black and green set...
so i need stator info and reg info...
ty … great site...
