Perhaps Lucass2T might know if you have to split the cases to install the sprocket pedal gear? It's a Tomos a3. and SMALL CC TEK had an exhaust for one of these a while ago. Make it even more dangerous! I know absolutely nothing about tomosses. Theyre plenty here in holland but boring af so never took any interest in em.

todays entry is about a scooter I got from an angry wife, and the 2 scooters I traded it for a couple months ago, the scooter tag challenge was pics of scooter with a horse. there are some horse corrals by creek park, which is about a mile from my house so off I went. while cruising side streets, I past a little yard sale. what caught my eye was the vespa and tool box with multiple for sale signs on them. so I stopped because I was curious. the lady of the house found out her man was cheating on her and the lord knows, hell hath no furry like a woman's scorn. she sold me their 2018 vespa gtx300 sei gorno for $400. that was all the money i had in my wallet. she started at $1000 but said she wanted it gone that day. she had already ghost rode it down her driveway and left it in the streetto be towed or taken the day before and threw the keys away the week bedore that. so it wasnt in perfect condition, but a 7000 dollar scooter for 400 bucks. ill take that any day. while searching the key/immobilizer situation i contacted a friend who has multiple vespas. old and new. before he answered my question asks" what are you gonna do with it?" wanna trade?" im always down to wheel and dealso i asked "for what?" he was gonna trade me a modded 09 ET4 and some cash. but im not really into 4 stroke scooters. so i passed. a week later he offered up a 1965 vespa vma1 125cc small frame and a 200? honda metropolitan 4 stroker with 200 miles, been in storage almost 15 years. its clean. but its too new and a 4 stroker. i said bring the 125 and ill pick up the metro later. (its been 3 weeks and is still at my friends house... lol). the vespa came with a polini exhaust, a mallossi intake and a 24mm mikuni flat slide. i had everything installed and it was running the same night! its my first 2 stroke shifty scooter. i really like it. been riding mostly the past 3 weeks. since getting it ive rewired from the brake pedal back. its a 6vAC system, but im running 12v bulbs everywhere except the headlight. no problems except it pops the brake light bulb after a couple days. i dont understand this screwy system at all. the brake light circuit is grounded till you step on brake pedal, which then opens the circuit from ground then the light illuminates?? WTF! strangest wiring ive ever seen, and ive seen A LOT. ive lowered the back 3 inches. i want to order some white walls for it after i figure out if i can go bigger than the 3.00x10" tires currently on it. also got a shiney mercedes hub cap for the front too. now i need to find another one for the back. also went down to autozoner and bought a package of that chrome door trim stuff and went to town. i think it looks really good and people ask me questions everywhere i take it the biggest complaint i have is the spoeedometer squeals sometimes when i get over 40mph its a terrible noise thast wont go away till i slow to under 20mph. it doesnt happen all the time but if it happened 1x its happened too many. its annoying. anyone heard of this? thats my next thing i need to fix. like ASAP. so heres pics of the big vespa the little vespa and 1 i took of that meto. let me know what yall think thanks.

The system on those use load of the bulbs as a regulator... or at least my 65 allstate did. If any of the bulbs including the pilot bulb in the headset go, it pops the other bulbs in short order.
You can probably rewire the stator to give you a center tap and then put a simple 4 pin reg on it and 12v output for much more reliability and ease of use for nearly free or cheap.

I figured it was possible to keep and reconfigure the stator already in it, if it has the capability to power the 12v bulbs that I just put in it. lol ive been trying to find a diagram to use as directions. just haven't found one yet. and counting the ground and kill wire, theres 5 wires in the junction box so im not too sure if the blue (brake) yellow (headset lighting) or green (horn) wires go where. did you convert your allstate? should have been very similar to what I have now. any links or direction to this is very welcome. thasnks

I will see what I can dig up, but essentially you need to put the coils in series. Mine had 2 coils that did the lighting. Have one wire coming off the lead of the first one, tie the out of that first coil to the input of the second coil with a 3rd wire coming off at that junction going out(your half tap) Then for the second coil ground that out to the frame of the stator and add a ground wire out from there. 3 wires in total.
Then add in your cheap 4 pin reg and away you go.
Just don't wire you HV coil for the ignition in by accident.
The 12v bulbs don't care that they have 6v output. They will still work, but it can mess up the loads which may be why the bulbs keep blowing.

Also green for horn is AC fired so you can run that on the half tap direct. . You can also run it on DC but it loses a bit of tone.
The headlight and brake light can be run together after the 12v conversion.
I think I had to fuck with the brake light switch a tad too. It's been a few years.
Good news is to make a whole new harness for these is about 7 wires. Bad news is you have to take the headset off and all the cables to do it properly.

I get that the blue brake light circuit needs a new switch. originally, the brake switch closes the circuit and grounds out the blue wire till you press the pedal and the switch opens the circuit, removing the ground and lighting the light. that's the screwiest part in trhis whole setup. I don't saee how a positive lead (blue wire) to ground (black wire) doesn't fry wires or blow the coil...

I found a pic of the stator that's on this vespa I don't see any sign of a high tension plug wire, so im not sure if is correct. maybe you can confirm if its correct or in correct, maybe you can point out what wires can go where to convert it. also, couldn't I combine wires in the junction box or does it need to be done at tne stator? does anyone have any personal experience with the fleabay 12v conversion kits? theyre about 100 bucks shipped, that seems like its too good to be true at that price.

It has to be done at the stator, I dont think you can isolate the coils like that at the junction. Also the wrap of the coils needs to be oopposite.CW, CCW. I realize I kinda generalized but on mine it was possible, maybe by dumb luck. Not every one may be the same But you need to take the coils and put them in series.
I had this working on a vba motor, but then acquired a px125 which was already 12v.
For 100 bucks though it seems like a no brainer, unless your cheap and stubborn.

For 100 bucks though it seems like a no brainer, unless your cheap and stubborn. got it on the coils. was just wondering on the junction box. was your vba internal or external coil? I still have my customers 79 px125 here at my house. hes still trying to decide if he wants to paint it or not. my small frame 125 is a lot faster than the px is. but I like the px glovebox and light bulbs that don't pop... although its been over a week since my vma as popped any bulbs..... the 100 bucks for the conversion isn't the issue, im more stubborn than anything. lol I don't give up on much. I was more concerned with quality of the India parts. ive read some things that don't like the indie parts quality. I personally don't care where something comes from as long as it works correctly and doesn't crap out after 2 weeks. that is more my concern than the 100$. plus converting to a cdi and external coil seems to be a huge upgrade over the internal points coil. but again, this is only what ive read. I don't mind points. I can set them up. like I saids I was more concerned with quality of the conversion kit so I was asking if anyone had used one yet. thanks pitobread for the info on the coil wiring. even if I get the kit. ill probably still try to convert the original stator just so I can say I did it... im weird like that.... and im still interested in one of those rear hubs if youd like some funding for that crazy new build of yours. I cant wait to see that beast come alive!! thanks again

been busy with work but I managed to find an af05e stuffy crank in germany on fleebay and I bought a pinasco 47.5mm honda vision cylinder on fleebay Italy. never seen or heard of this cylinderbefore, but pinasco makes some quality stuff for vespa so I got and a couple other various cylinders for 80$ ea shipped. I had the old af05 engine that had the metrakit bbk on it. I spun the variator crank shaft splines off it. I tore down the engine pulled the crank and went to work with a Dremel. I cleaned up the intake windows, smoothed all the sharp edges in the crankcase, then I cut trenches since the stuffy crank will keep the case volume low, then I matched up the ports, didn't take much. I didn't like how the cylinder was shrouding the ports so I trimmed it back a little bit then cleaned the edges of ports. all looked good. I got an old reed block and cut the center out of it to use as an adapter plate for the dio intake from treats. haven't ran it yet. waiting on a straight grooved gy6 rear pulley for the cvt. haven't decided which variator I want to run yet though. I like the polini and keli I have not sure if I want another keli for this or try something new. I have a koso I can use for the time being. also not sure if I want to put this in my orange and the polini currently in it on the shelf till I build the 87 se50 elite that it came out of. I got that whole scooter for $30. had no fairings so I got a set of JDM DJ1 fairings, head light, tail light and super rare glove box. I borrowed and modified its forks for my blue aero, so I came up on a dio/ ruckus telescopic fork set and some zx disk drake wheels. stay tuned for pics of that build soon. well when I get some more time for it. I don't want to let this pinasco sit till then and that's why I think itll end up in the orange aero, but that scooters running good with the polini, so I really don't know... decisions decisions

been a while since posting in my build thread. those 4 wheeled monsters been keeping me busy. but I had some free time the past few rainy days and after a year, im finally starting my 87 dj1/se50 build. im tired of staring at the huge box of fairing taking up space in my garage. lol I pulled the frame out of the back yard degreased it and rinsed it off. it was more dusty than anything. then I sprayed painted it with a can of smoke grey. the previous owner had painted it black and I liked the idea of a grey frame with the white and red panels I have for it. I had a set of zx disk/drum wheels, but I also found a kitaco zx drum front wheel and put that and the rear wheel on my orange 84. so I now need another zx aluminum rear rim if anyone has an extra one their not using taking up space in the garage. let me know. the engine is its original af05e with 10.0 final gear ratio. it has a polini kit. dio reed intake, delorto 19mm carb. for the cvt im running 50cc gy6 118mm rear pulley, a red 2000 contra spring, light weight clutch with extra holes drilled in each arm to raise the stall rpm higher, with red 2000 springs, and a vented clutch bell. havent decided on a variator yet. I do have an extra koso on the shelf though. nor have I picked out an exhaust. heres the beginning mockup for assembly. also need a gas tank and an oil tank. if any one has either one or both, or a rear zx wheel, shoot me a message thanks.
