Ordered the ifixit bat replacement for the xt1575 Moto X Pure Edition smartphone. Just recently finished putting back together, works like a champ. battery calibration session atm. Old bat.  Used this vid tut. Only part he left out is reconnecting the ribbon cable connectors. That both clip downward onto the plug for one and the pins for the other. I used tweezers and the spudge thing, took 15seconds. Overall took 2 and a 1/2 hours, tear down, cleaned old glue and back together. A lot easier than anticipated. Edit: I used a wagner heat gun which helped out so much getting that back off. |

still doing battery collaboration.
I charged it to 100% +2hrs last night, pulled it off charge it went through 6% for 7 hours with my screen off which is a lot better than before, I need drop it to where the phone shuts off of no power, charge it to 100% with uninterrupted charging. and it'll be completed.
Taking forever to drain, using brightness at highest and playing a waterfall 9 hour youtube video to help drain it.
And also I notice my phone isn't getting hot like it use to with brightness at highest and streaming.
For a 2015 phone, I'm still happy with it, now a new battery for another 3-4 years if screen doesn't go out :/.

on my 2nd battery now. about a year old. took pix other day over 3-4 hrs period- only a few pix- when I was done came inside and it was off and down to 1%- cheap ,$280. LG .

My original bat which is exactly the same as the replacement oem lasted from 2015 till I took it out yesterday and replaced it and now look.   |

tell me if I'm wrong but I think you have to spend 500 just to get a quality phone ??
best phone I ever had; Nextel radio phone , little flip phone . had it on my dresser once , was in shower , heard voice calling me; phone rung and answered ; that's not always desirable but I loved it . wish they were still out there .

some of it is all the updates they release over the years. its almost always recommended to do a factory data reset on a fone after replacing the battery and let it redownload the most recent update to have less broken files and less of a chance to have random no reason drains. i had a nexus 4 and was the first fone i really liked it got stole at a job because someone liked it more and the samsung s4 made me hate the newer fones. then i fell in love with the windows fones. my lumia 1020 was still running strong and its from 2011 i think it was. i replaced it with my lumia 1520 but the batt died due to it being a phablet and me leaving it plugged in to use for wifi hotspot. the 1020 started to show its age finally so i replaced the batt on my 1520 finally and its back to its former glory and still a perfect fone other than the huge screen being a bother for pants pockets. i keep the 1020 around for the camera as it was/is amazing. a literal 41 megapixel camera "fone" the camera is almost as thick as the fone its self and protrudes out of the back a good bit has a shutter and xenon flash. and the 1520 still has a great 20mp camera by any means. both were much before the normal fones getting close to 20 mp. 1 paid 120 and 150 for these fones not much after their release lightly used.

censored some ofcourse. i agree mostly with you as a traditional smartfone is as bad as the people that use them while driving or walk infront of cars while social mediaing. but i like my camera fones no app support no developer support. no hacker interest but i have a really good camera with windows installed on it that can also make an occasional call. or check stuff online while im out and need to look something up like product reviews or maps to figure out if im lost in a new area. its nice having the productivity while away from home.

I like the guy in the vids T-shirt. chehystpewpur , I am a grumpy old man and also hate the idiots walking through stores conversing on their phone. My use for a phone would be similar to yours with maybe a few engineering apps and a magnifier app for geriatric reading of fine print.
I use an old LG flip phone, nothing but emergency calls.

i cant say im old yet but i feel like it most days. was raised for the first 10 years by my great grandparents. wish it would have been longer. sadly those apps you speak of most likely dont exist on windows fone. but the magnifier is built in with the camera so it has that one for sure. when i first started driving as a teen i wouldnt talk and drive and still dont over 15 years later. i dont multi task and the road is dangerous enough without the distractions of a fone in your hand. ive had more near misses thanks to those things than i can count or would like to remember. look up the lumia 1020, 1520, or 950/950xl they all can be had for almost nothing nowadays and you may just fall in love with a good product. or have a nice camera for around the house for a great price somewhat used. the 1520 has a great screen and the 950/950xl is newest with a great screen aswell and better camera. good battery life and good product that has aged well and i like the low app support as its a camera first then a fone. not a tablet like most people seem to think a fone should be.

Naw, just bought it to use during a post-op hospital stay and found it was totally unsuitable for my purposes. Should have returned it to the store but I was distracted by recovery and other things until it was to late.
