So, I have this 2005 Zuma 50. It came with no exhaust , I already found a performance pipe, used. I was under the thing looking around and noticed that the exhaust port on the cylinder is like a half moon. Not round at all. Is this typical? Do you guys usually grind it round ? Right now it looks like it would restrict exhaust flow pretty bad.

Half moon sounds about right. Flat at the bottom.

Yep the exhaust port is half round and is begging for a dremel, but there is report in the tech section that removing material on that side is not very effective..

Stock cylinders are that way. Somewhere in project 49 our admin Brent did tests unported and then port matched and didn’t find any noticeable gains. Save the energy for other tuning tasks.

Sorry to bump this. If you have a chamber, would that might benefit with the port match?

yes that very common but if you got a 70cc kit it would have a much better exhaust and if its a quality kit like malossi 70cc sport the port timing would be way better over stock
