Got given some Hornby Dublo 3 rail stuff by a client I work for which he was given have had it kicking round for a year and bought some odds and sods off the internet over a period of time and now have 3 sheets of ply hanging about so its time I done something with it. Its the old 1940's - 1960's metal bodied stuff so now the colder weather setting in I shall start making it up then work out a worthwhile cause to donate it too as I not got much room to store it. I also have some 009 stuff but I maybe able to make that small enough to fit inside an old aquarium and let the grand kids play with it when they come down or may even try and combinne the two.
But for now I have just been sorting through the bits and have ordered a few last pieces of track and shall get on with it in the near future.

I used to mess with HO scale stuff when I was a kid but I lost interest when parts turned out to be very expensive and I needed bicycle parts worse. I don't even know what happened to all of it.

Think I have now become a big kid 😊 Wow I just realised most parts are about 70yrs old. Even older than me

It's funny how you see something and it brings back good or bad memories ! That track reminds me of the guy who thought me how to solder. He was into Model trains like that he soldered the tracks together. And that is how i learned he was my friends dad Mr Shavers he worked at McDonald Douglas on the line building parts for the DC10 in the 70's . Trains are cool but where do you put it all when it gets huge ? lol The guy i am talking about had a garage full in the air on wood and on the wall every place that had space was trains .

Few years back I saw an advertisement for a HO scale train set from The Bradford exchange that had the Allis-Chalmers Logo and theme on it. Seeing I use to be an Allis_Chalmers collector/enthusiast I thought that would be nice to have. The wife asked me where I was gona display it? I said no problem. Here is a picture of what I came up with: Jim...….

Well the time has come now we have less movement with the virus, I am looking to see which to start first. Bit like my scooters sometimes. I have 0 gauge clockwork the 00 Hornby 3 rail and 009 gauge as well. Need to plan small so I can store it somewhere for present.

I don't recognise the name but that type track looks vaguely familiar . you're bringin on memories of sticking track together . reckon that would be about 62' - 63 - ?

Always liked the authentic big steamers. The Virginia Museum of Transportation has some real behemoths.. Norfolk & Western Class A 1218 2-6-6-4 was one of the bigger ones. And I was elated to see the 611, just like I had as a kid. These things are so big you can't really appreciate them unless you're 50 yards away. Really impressive, right before diesel technology snuffed them out

1940's - 60's jloi for the H0/00 3 rail stuff and the old tin plate 0 gauge clockwork may well be from 1920 when they first started producing this stuff up until it was phased out in the 1960's in favour of the 3 rail stuff which then became 2 rail

Well things have changed needed to scale down a bit in size and space so clockwork 0 gauge gone, Hornby 00 gone and am going to make a layout with 009 gauge and a small amount of 00 gauge combined together as scales the same both being 4mm to the foot.
