i would test fit the cylinder a few times with the cases together and the case bolts atleast snug but not tight and see if any of the cylinder skirts get caught up anywhere or are scratched or gouged by any high spots. there is always the chance for casting marks or flaws somewhere and if the case is together without the sealant in there it would be very easy to catch anything like that. you never know what you might find and it could save a few headaches in the end. ive seen much more catastrophic clearance and uneven loading in much more expensive engines. the straighter and truer you can get your pathways for air fuel piston movement and exhaust the less it will have to work to make power and the healthier and longer itll last. which means more up time and more money for mods since you wont be having to buy parts that fail. and that means better excuses for me to come down and go for a ride. and one of us should make it back to the truck.
these motors can literally go forever and quality control wasnt the best for the jogs or minarelli's even some of the very high dollar scoots than chinas manufacturing capabilities 5 years ago. with a little bit of time and attention to detail its gonna hold up alot better than stock would be.

I’ll probably bring it down a bit as long as there’s enough metal surrounding it to inspire confidence. Spring can’t arrive soon enough.

Ken In case your looking to another big Scootertuning order Boxing Day is typically there next big sale . Day after Christmas last year it was 15% off.
I see your looking at going after a overrange ,I have looked at the stage6 ,malossi and the polini.
I have used the sport malossi and sport polini on various scoots they are a Big upgrade overstock as far as acceleration and top end .I give tie breaker to the malossi .

I have a vacation coming up and obviously the holiday, so I’ll probably hold off until I’m actually starting to get the scoot in tune to make the purchase. I thoroughly appreciate the heads up though! By the sport I assume you’re talking about the iron version of the Polini over range? I’d obviously be after whatever is going to give me the best of both worlds, so may have to reconsider my choices and do some more thorough research.

By sport I mean the non overange variatiors. I also looking at which overrange to go with since I lost out on the parts for scooters lottery.
I am probably looking at a Spring to Summer purchase since I have 3 scoots that I am upgrading in my basement. Cylinder swap,Torque driver ,New pipe so I want to get those right first.

Ahh okay gotcha. Had my mind stuck on over ranges. I know the guys at Scooter Tuning really like the Polini over ranges, so they can't be horrible. However, I also know that they cannot drive their modified scooters on the public roads in their providence, so they are much more concerned with torquey rocket ships than cruising at higher speeds, like most of us are for our daily drivers. They rarely leave large parking lots, so don't get up to speed often. This is my first spring really into modifying scooters, so the spring riding season seems like it will be exciting. Get to see how everyone's builds progress.

I have the "cheap" version of the malossi overrange kit on my Zuma and I'm very happy. If we're trying to be objective about all of this, I feel like I'm splitting hairs, at best. The difference between the "new and improved" and "cheap" version of the Malossi over range, is probably not significant and we'd all probably be happy with either of those or the Polini stuff. All a large improvement over stock and tons of fun I'm sure.

The la furia rossa has a much different torque driver and some differences in the vario i believe.

I think the stage 6 kit is meant for drag/street racing as it comes with a very soft rear spring, and the gentleman I knew who was using one ended up swapping multiple parts and essentially making his own OR kit. I honestly don't even know if the stage 6 kit is even available anymore.

Cuz it would be illegal. And we all know that you just can't break the law.

Cuz it would be illegal. And we all know that you just can't break the law. That's some good footage haha! I guess I should elaborate on my statement a bit. All of this is information I've gathered from a conversation with the brother of the dude who started Scooter Tuning , who's kinda become my bud via my spending habits, so to be taken with a grain of salt. He told me that because of the universal healthcare in Canada, the police don't let you get away with quietly breaking the law on the road because when you get hurt because your modified scooter's throttle stuck open and you flew into a tree, the government is stuck with the tab, so they are the opposite of lax when it comes to vehicle violations and such. He says an obviously modified scooter is a BIG NO NO. Blows my mind because he's sends me pics all the time of his scoot and some of the projects they're working on and they easily have thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into them. Here's a couple he just sent me. Carbon fiber, pro paint jobs with Ferrari brand paint, two stroke Ruckus, blah blah blah... All that being said, I think basically everyone that owns a scooter and drives it on the road in my state is breaking the law. They're not supposed to go over 30 mph and even most restricted scoots will do about 31 mph haha.
