I know that they cannot drive their modified scooters on the public roads in their providence, so they are much more concerned with torquey rocket ships than cruising at higher speeds, like most of us are for our daily drivers. They rarely leave large parking lots, so don't get up to speed often. um, ya, totally. Me too. I never take my unregistered premix-only race-geared scooter on the street either. Cuz it would be illegal. And we all know that you just can't break the law. Damn Benjis Zuma is fast are you pushing 70mph with that set up you crawling up on the cars

Damn Benjis Zuma is fast are you pushing 70mph with that set up you crawling up on the cars 65 mph with my setup. Stock crank, only tuned for 10k-11k. There's a few guys on here with faster bikes. They street ride em too haha.

i can say this the main difference your gonna see between an overrange and the sport variators is gonna be tops speed. the sport ones all have their own take on things but they have better designed ramps than stock and hold rpms well until they run out of belt travel. the overrange is obviously gonna make you lose electric start but hold rpms for so long and my malossi one is sooo smooth it just pulls and pulls. but on thing to think about if your not going to be going "fast" an over range with gears will never make full belt travel so it will grove and pit doing 45 mph or less everywhere. so that one time you do want to go its not gonna want to. i think in my last tune on my bike it was around 65 mph that i ran out of belt travel and rpms started to climb. but i have low gear ratio and big wheels. if you only plan on seeing 55ish get a sport one if you want to keep up get an overrange and fall in love.
the way i look at is is the longer you can stay in power the better its going to feel. and having more effective gear with an overrange you could still be accelerating when the sport one ran out of gear rpms raise and you dont have the power to go anymore. i decided to do the right thing and im gonna re title my scoot as a motorcycle and claim 140cc so i dont have to worry anymore about you cant go that fast. that 30mph rule is dumb and the road i live on im not allowed to ride it on? or any road around me. if its a motorcycle it can be as fast as i want or as loud so its a big win there.

It's a good choice to register it as a motorcycle. When I had my Aerox, it would easily do 60mph. It has to be registered by law as a 50cc over here. Its a nightmare to change the classification in the U.K. The department of transport don't like doing it. When I looked into doing it, even the lighting of the whole vehicle has to be uprated.

its cheaper than replacing it here and my old state didnt care. i got eyebrows every time i went to the dmv for it in fl but the laws are diff and stock my bike could be impounded and never given back in this one for doing nothing wrong. i need my motorcycle endorsement anyways for another vehicle anyways and since they will supposedly do it painlessly here i might as well. ive seen more than 2.5 times what is allowed on my bike so its gonna be pretty hard to prove it only does 30 lmao. also envy on the aerox. always wanted one but closest i got was aprilia parts bike. close enough i guess even tho i cant use much of anything from it.

Although I don't have experience with a horizontal zuma, the best upgrade I ever did to my vert zuma was an OR setup. I slept on it for so long because I didn't want to spend the money, but when I did eventually get it, I kicked myself for not doing it sooner. It allowed a much higher top speed and kept the same acceleration characteristics once it was all dialed in to my liking. Now I'm an OR lobbyist and recommend it as the first modification one should perform. I will also venture to say. Don't waste your time and money on a non-OR setup because in the long run you'll make the switch to overrange.

The over range setup really isn't that expensive if you never spend any money on any less or product. you can spend money on belts, variators, torque drivers, all kinds of weights and springs. But the over range is what you really need especially if you have upgears. Screw the electric starter.

i think new or is around 100 bux nowadays and most of the sport ones are 40-60 dollars and seeing as how the over ranges last forever youll most likely have a cheaper sport one wear out and end up buying another one in the time the overrange would last your really gonna buy it regardless. plus if you buy one later on youll have to buy weights twice as they are a diff size and the sport ones use a diff size from stock and the overrange so you may end up with 3 sets of weights. belts seem to last forever with the overrange too. yeah they cost more but i can source my malossi belt for 35 bux. i think i ran one malossi belt almost 10k miles just to see how long it would last. most of my gates or bando ones lasted around 5k. its just such a good setup after you try one there isnt any going back. i mean come one less variation that 50 rpms from 0-65 mph you cant really dial it in any better than that. and while your cruising it doesnt stick when you need power it just jumps right back up to your set rpms for accel and pulls.
id rank it just as important as buying a good pipe for your cylinder or remembering to put a spark plug in before trying to start it. its a larger gain than a good carb on a stock bike. and about the same price.

I wonder why over range kits are so much cheaper over in the U.S. Both the Polini and stage 6 kits are $300 here. That's pretty much how much I paid 10 years ago for the stage 6 kit too.

are you looking at whole kits with torque driver belt and variator? that could warrant the 300$ price tag. im only speaking of variator as im not really sure if i need all the other jazz the kits come with. i dont make enough power to break anything yet so having a slightly larger than stock torque driver and clutch i dont see the gain from swapping to one of the expensive ones. i would like to try one of the stage6 torque drivers but they seem to be getting hard to find. all torque drivers seem to be getting hard to find by its self honestly. maybe that has something to do with the prices being high for you. alot of the parts are made around you so shortages or supply issues would hit you guys first.

Yes that's the whole kit. You are right, just the variator is about $100. Only ever brought the complete kit. So never really looked for the torque drive on its own. Just be able to get them though. As the full kits are still about.

Top Performance sells a Torque driver by itself it is 122 mm so you don't have to grind the case . Stock is 115 mm overrange is 128 mm. I purchased it from dynoscooter you need to get a malossi spacer kit under 1oo bucks for both .

24 bucks for a oversized pulley. That is a major bargain Is that is what is on your 2001 jog
It would be way cool if Dexameth would come up with a fully built zuma with ssp-g and universal parts just to see how far you could take a build with non-euro parts and your rear pulley would fit in nicely .
I myself am always drawn to the Sexy European parts.
I just got outbid for a 98 Jog this week by the way .
