The kydex sheets are a good match. One side is smooth the other has texture. I’ll see if I can find a picture of mine. I have a kydex sheet at home from doing the seat bucket and should have plenty left, but I was going to get something a little thicker so I could bevel the edge and make it flush. I may just end up using the kydex though. We'll see. No need for pics since I already have some at home to compare. Much appreciated though.

Been away for a while and fairly inactive on the forum. Life has been kinda nutty. Had some major landlord issues at my previous apartment, moved (to a much much nicer place), started an internship on top of working full time and school, and have had a few other fun things to deal with in the past month or so. But I'm back and ready to get this sh!t show back on the road. After all, I have a couple grand in new parts and tools sitting here for a scooter currently listed in my signature as "mostly in pieces" and that's a very accurate and unsettling fact. Been doing a bunch of organizing and sorting in my new "workshop" and it's coming along nicely. Here's what the new workspace looks like. Best space I've ever had (by far), aside from the fact it's in a basement with roughly 13 stairs haha... Had just a little time tonight to get some work done on the cases. Mostly just polished and smoothed the "flow" areas out, aside from taking off the sharp edges. What do you guys think? Going to be installing the crank tomorrow and I have a question: For the collar that sits around the crankshaft and inside of the oil seal on the variator side, does that collar get installed before or after I pull the crank into place and seal the cases up? Like, does it go into place inside of the cases or from the outside?

Another question/issue... really don't want to make any wrong moves with my new cases... I trimmed by cylinder base gasket to match the port channels on my cylinder and then made an outline on my cases with it for matching the cylinder to the cases, but according to my method, if I cut the cases to match the Corsa cylinder, I'll have almost no mating surface left. Seems weird to me for a cylinder made to fit the Minarelli to require such an aggressive cut. Am I missing something? Heres the gasket matched to the cylinder. Here's the gasket on top of the case. And here's what I'd be left with. Can anyone tell me what kind of cutting or matching I should aim for?

For starters, you have the base gasket flipped wrong during marking.

Boost port on gasket is clocked 180°
In second picture boost port of base gasket is at 12 o'clock When it should be at 6 o'clock

I’ve had my cases resting upside down the entire time... I swear... I’m only a mild idiot most of the time.

Going to be installing the crank tomorrow and I have a question: For the collar that sits around the crankshaft and inside of the oil seal on the variator side, does that collar get installed before or after I pull the crank into place and seal the cases up? Like, does it go into place inside of the cases or from the outside? Usually the crank has a smooth section that will interact with the oil seal. Then there's a spacer that slips over the crank and butts up against that. It would go on after the crank is in. Usually as you are installing the variator or if you use e-start stuff. At least your port matching just got way easier.

Thanks for explaining.
And that was my first thought haha! Turns out the Corsa is already pretty much matched haha!

Tomorrow is my first of three 16 hr days in a row again (and only getting paid for half of the time), so I’ll likely be back at it Saturday.

So before I start cutting, here's what I got. Quite a bit more meat left. I measured it to between 2.5-3.5mm of contact surface in the corners. Does that sound ample for a sealing surface?
