Just a quick update on the Racing Planet Germany not shipping to Japan situation. As I thought they confirmed my suspicion. Due to the Covid situation DHL doesn't ship to all countries at the moment. They can't say how long that will be the case. I'm having similar issues with shipping, but out of Japan rather than in lol Only option with WeBike is $$FedEx$$ and has been for a while
And yeah also no shipping to NZ from Racing Planet.

So i thought i'll take a look myself and search for a better pipe for my daily driver. Was thinking about a Yasuni R or a Polini Team pipe. I was shocked to see that many stores have run out of stock or worse, won't even ship to Japan anymore. And if they do ship the shipping prices have doubled or even tripled. Racing Planet Germany send me a Birthday 10% discount coupon but they won't ship to Japan. 😒 I am sure it must have something to do with that covid situation. Not a good time to be scooter tuning at the moment. Guess i'll stick to my Next-R for now till the situation gets better. We still have a good stock of Yasuni exhausts here. But I could still see it being a problem shipping it to you.

Went for a 60+ mile ride today with a buddy for part of it. Zuma is running very well so far. I hit a steady 61mph GPS, tucked on flat ground, with no wind. Cruising 56-58mph when I’m upright. My friend was very impressed with how well it runs.
I have to say THANK YOU to everyone on the forum that has helped me along the way with this build. I know I can be a pain in the ass and a bit obsessive sometimes, so I really appreciate everyone answering my endless line of questions and helping me make it this far. No way in hell I could have got it going, let alone running so well without everyone’s help. This forum is absolutely invaluable when it comes to making things run and run right. A truly impressive resource of people all over the world with amazing amounts of experience and an even more amazing sense of willingness to help.
Can’t wait to get the C16 on it and see how it does too!

Now thats what you were looking for and it is not even loosened up yet . The Yasuni R is Hard to Beat handles a hotter 70 cc cylinder real well . That is until you get the C16 and start pushing mid to high 60's . Nice job Ken That winter project has really come together .

What do you guys think about running 40:1 premix. Is that too lean (or rich. I forget which is proper) for an aluminum cylinder under 11k rpm?

40:1 should be fine with good oil. I wouldn't go any more oil rich than 32:1 and no leaner than 50:1. I did 50:1 for years, but after switching to 32:1 and seeing parts, I doubt that I'll go back to that lean. Prob 32-40:1 for me.

Thank you. 40:1 it is!
Been doing 32:1 during the break in period, but I’ve run through at least 5 gallons now and it’s starting to feel like it’s settling in, so I think I’m ready to make the switch to 40:1.

Put another 50 or so miles on it today. Got it up to 62mph, maybe 63mph (GPS was floating a bit) on a flat, tucked, with a very slight tailwind. Cruising temps between 180F-230F, with WOT runs of ~2+ miles seeing temps of ~245F and slowly climbing continuously.
After startup and for the first mile or so, usually until it gets up to around 180F or a little higher, it spits and sputters a little, as if maybe it's running rich. I'm thinking this is either because I almost always forget to shutoff the manual petcock for a few minutes or because I need to lower the needle to its lowest position or downjet the MJ. I doubt that it's the MJ, so I may try lowering the needle to the first notch on top. It does basically completely clear up after a little riding though, so I may just leave it because I'd rather run a bit rich with the aluminum cylinder.
All in all, running pretty well and it seems to be okay with all the miles I've been putting on it.haha

I’d leave the jetting as is. Most 2 strokes need a few minutes to clear out before running clean. Part of it is getting the exhaust warmed up.

I gotta say, this is my first successful 70cc two stroke build, and man this thing is fun. I recently got a comm system for my girlfriend and I, so I now have music in my helmet. I've cruised around for at least an hour the past couple nights just rockin out and being obnoxious around town. Too much fun. A buddy an I rode out do a town down the road yesterday too. Here's a pic...

Just like Ryan said All my builds in the morning have that sputter till there warm and I get past that first 1/2 mile and get above 180-200 degrees . Once they are warmed up they just purr .
62 mph she is loosening up a bit and those temps are outstanding for air cooled .

Your Buddy must be Impressed half the ccs as his but all the power . Ho do you compare on take off and top end to him ? On takeoff and top-end, I leave him in the dust. He's a pretty decent tuner from what I can tell, but I think his Zuma is just very heavy. You can't tell in the pics, but it's stretched, has aftermarket wheels, and he's a pretty big dude himself, so I'm sure all of that adds a little heft which helps my case. There's a pretty big tuning scene in Detroit and Branden (buddy mentioned above) and I are going to load our bikes up in his truck and head out there for a ride sometime soon. I can't wait to see how my ride stacks up against all these Detroit guys. They mostly ride Elites, so they're lighter. A lot of them just throw parts on their bikes and blow holes in pistons all the time though. I think, even though my bike is heavier, it's well tuned and runs strong and I may be able to give them a run for their money. At the very least I should get them on top-end.

Breaking 60 is a big acccomplishment . I figured you had him on take off and posssibly top end . Throw Up a Vid so you can be on the speed list . Theres a place waiting and when you get your next pipe you can just resubmit your 65 mph plus machine 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/11206/scoot-speed-list

Yeah, I had thought about submitting a video for the speed list, but making the actual video may be a little tricky. I don't like the idea of doing 60+mph one-handed lol. I may need to pickup a Go Pro or something.
