Hey guys, this will be my first post. Love the channel the al the info here! A little about my moped. It’s a 2002 malaguti warrior f18. 150cc LC with a 57.5 bore, Malossi variator, spring, belt, and polini clutch/bell. Uni air filter, exhaust, blablabla. Anyways, off the line I notice a very slight “slipping” feeling. Not much. I’m running a good 16 sec 1/4 mile and before was in the low 19s before getting the new clutch. Didn’t notice it before but I’m also tuning the bike all the time and “might be” getting more power which I’m thinking the belt could be slipping in the very beginning or maybe it’s worn a little. It’s a Molossi kevlar so pretty strong. Maybe time for a new belt? I havnt measured yet... anyways, any suggestions? Also, belt is all way up in the rear, and all way down in the front and no more room to go after being marked and checked. 65-70mph on the top.

Are you doing the quarter mile off a cliff ? 16 seconds require a top speed over the finnish line at approximately 85mph !

You might be better off in the 100+cc section of this forum. Id look into the belt. Or maybe even a stiffer contra spring as i understand they put more squishing force on the belt. Are you doing the quarter mile off a cliff ? 16 seconds require a top speed over the finnish line at approximately 85mph ! Or a very fast acceleration.

It does not accelerate very fast and it never ever reaches 85mph. Unless it's off a cliff.

I was only commenting that one doesnt neccesarily need 85mph to run a 16s quarter mile. However, that IS an incredible acceleration. I have to wonder where the op is getting his numbers. And if hes getting 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile mixed up.

I have gps records of all my runs. I use race timer which is a reliable app. I have to say it’s very very fast off the line. I’m going to try a stiffer spring. Maybe a purple malossi. I think maybe I’m launching in second gear which if I am is very impressive at the speeds I’m getting. I’d upload a picture of video here but don’t see that option unless I just link to YouTube or something?

Those are nice scoots it sounds like you have a great set up. Do you mind sharing what color springs you are running to help us solve your problem. how old is the belt, how many miles on it?

Its a much better scoot than i was thinking it was (italian, not chinese). My bad. Id really like to see what you have though. 16s IS pretty fast. The ninja 250r i had was about that fast.

July 2018. I drive like a ass hole because I’m always cars off the line but belt looks good. No tearing or anything. Malossi belt so good quality. Yellow malossi, polini adjustable clutch and polini bell, I have the malossi “kit” for variator and rollers.

I’ll ask my buddy if I can grab is chest go pro mount and get some recordings with it uploaded on YouTube or my Instagram. To fast to hold a phone comfortably. I can usually beat cars off the line and then if I’m trailing a car I can get a good 75mph. Stock gearing and cylinder. I am getting a 62mm ordered in. Taking longer then I want but will get me even more torque off the line

I have no clue where to post if others are looking for certain videos or what not. Pretty new to all this online stuff. I’ve spend a lot of hours talking to a bunch of companies over seas and all over for parts tuning and getting diagrams of the motor for parts comparability.
Right now according to malossi the spring I have is the stiffest. Again my spring is a: M2911384.Y0. For a kymco dink 125. It has a stiffness rating of 13,62k
