So we got a Yamaha Zuma a while back, and it's been marinating in the warehouse for a few months. We gotta do something with it, so I figured I could start a little build thread with it.
2005 Yamaha Zuma 49cc 2t bone stock. Not sure what we are doing, but we need to at least get it running and stopping first.
Videos and descriptions to follow...

So, first things first - Tom changed out the brake pads in the front. Rotor was fine, not changing that bugger yet.

So in my first attempt to start the plastic removal, I find a bolt holding the rear rack on is busted off at the head of the bolt. Had to maneuver the rack just right to be able to tap the rack off the broken bolt, which led to the bolt breaking. No big deal, was easy to remove after it broke.

Okay, time to get to the carburetor. Here we are simply removing all the plastics to be able to remove the seat bucket and expose the carburetor.

I'd have to vote for the nastiest hyper race that you can put together. Then head over and have a drag race and dyno-shootout with fellow Floridian, boostcrzy. Either that or a Universal Parts/SSP-G/HOCA 70-100cc engine and try to break the 9,000(ish) mile Guinness record for a scooter trip. Just explain to the powers that be that it's worth putting you up in lavish hotels around the continent for 2-3 months for the amount of content you can create and publicity with that sort of trip. You could even visit Universal Parts dealers all around North America in the videos. EDIT : That may be for 49cc. Still amazing. You've got a company to back this, so you might as well go big. Whatever happens, I'll be happy to see wheelie-loving dex piloting a 2T Zuma.

Been a little while - but I finally got the new carburetor installed as well as new fuel lines and an in-line filter. Everything was fine until the day after when there was fuel underneath the scoot - that's for the next chapter.

Would that be Part #: 114-79? 19mm ? would that use Teikei jets? Yeah, that's the carb (I should have noted it in the video...) And the jets do looks like the Teikei jets... but the jets in 114-79 are slotted not hexagonal.

Whats next? Universal Parts Minarelli 47mm Big Bore Cylinder Kit? Actually next is to look into the CVT, make sure it's healthy. Then air up the tires and take this baby for a spin! Once it's all good then we can worry about go-fast stuff (:

This scooter hasn't even ran yet, so I have settled on the jet that is in the carb... haha everything is stock so I probably won't be changing jets. If the big bore goes on, you can almost guarantee that a different carb will be use. Stay tuned!

I would really love to see a universal parts/hoca build on this. Screw making the OEM stuff work, just start swapping parts! You know the rear pulley (torque driver) needs swapped for a jog90 at least, and some of those 6-spoke 12" cpi wheels would look killer!

Showing how much Bang for the Buck you can get with each upgrade ,would help the 90 % of beginning Tuners that just are starting to get the Upgrade Bug.
