Noted @scootaholic. I converted my fuel petcock to a manual one. Current set up:
My 2 years old stage6 70cc streetrace cylinder 2500km on scooter Stage6 vario 6g rollers Sports TD using straight groove Tecnigas exhaust 792x16.6 belt as the dayco 808x16.8 belt is causing too much slapping but would have been a better fit as it reaches the edge of the vario Sports CDI Replaced with new carb like stock mikuni 95 main jet and 15 pilot jet Middle notch on needle Stock airbox with snorkel off Ngk bpr7HS spark plug- it’s always chilly here in the south island of New Zealand.
Also cuts out whole riding when using the 102 main jet and runs badly and boggs whole the 95 main jet i thought was perfect and smooth until it cut me out the road haha. I have set correct float height as per youtube videos. It’s starts after cutting out and dies after like 15secs and starts again after a minute. Could it be my fuel line is or external fuel filter not giving enough fuel. M just scared messing up my piston and all. It’s feels and sound like when kill switch is turned on while riding.

Sounds like you have a great setup for a daily driver. As far as fuel flow goes, you should be able to pull the fuel line from the carb and see a steady stream of fuel coming out. Another easy thing to check is the CDI, can you swap another one in to see if it helps? I ran a BPR8HS plug in my street race, a 7 is a pretty hot plug. Have you tried a new plug? Another GREAT tuning tool is a cylinder head temp gauge, it can help you determine if your carb is tuned correctly, and tell you if you are actually getting hot enough to soft seize.

Thanks oldgeek. I hope what you’ve said are the issues😅 Will try this out later today. Mind if i ask about the vacuum petcock which i converted to manual, it still has the filter inside the tank, should i take it off? As i also have an external filter connected to the manual petcock and to the carb.

check to make sure your gas tank is vented you could be pulling a vacuum in the tank. Happened to me after I replaced my fuel cap and converted the vacuum petcock to a manual one with a filter inline. I'd be good but if I was WOT for awhile the problem would arise. Drain the float bowl right after it happens see if fuel flows out.

As the other poster mentioned, make sure you leave the gas cap on while you are testing fuel flow.

Looks like it’s like mine no vent I’d assume. Try not to dump gas everywhere but take off the cap and try running it. Or better make a temporary vent cap. I’d suggest not modifying your gas cap until your certain that’s the problem.

After reading through your thread, some things came to mind.
1. Did you lubricate your throttle cable so that it can pull and return easily? The twist grip throttle pretty much only relies on the carb slide spring to return the twist grip back to zero throttle.
2. You mentioned fuel filter. Is your fuel filter element the paper type? I had problems with paper element filters. Now i only use the sintered yellow metal element fuel filters.
3. Does your stock carb have auto enricher/choke?
4. You are running a 70cc with airbox snorkel removed. You may need to up jet the pilot if you are still running the stock pilot jet. Your engine draws in more air with a 70cc bore and removing the snorkel changes the air/fuel ratio.
5. Going back to the carb. Have you checked the carb to see if the slide is fully closing when the throttle is at its home position, zero throttle?
6. When you had the best results, how many turns out was your air mixture screw? How much turns in was your idle screw?
7. Do you have black fuel lines or are they transparent? Transparent fuel line allow you to inspect fuel flow or you can see if there are air bubbles in the line. Helps to troubleshoot fuel delivery issues.
That's about all i can think of at this moment.

Hi guys been a while. Covid has slowed down everything from ordering parts and all to my part of the world in New Zealand. Finally got my scoot running and all the idle issues was because my auto oil pump has broken down that’s why mnhaving this symptoms and eneded up getting soft seizures. Remove everything as per instructions from @brent to remove the oil pupm and now pre-mixing @40:1 semi synthetic. Would that be safe on my 70cc’s new piston and crank? Or should i go 50:1?

50 to 1 would work for you set up If you were running a higher rpm set up then 40 to 1 would be better .

Max rev that the scoot is doing is around 10500 rpm WOT whenever i go up a steep hill and the rest are just probably half throttle the whole time driving around town. Should be alright with 50:1?thanks
