Hi mates. Just went for a ride with my chinarelli. While riding i suddenly stalled and engine cut out while @ 3/4 to wot. First time i have experienced this. Felt like running out of gas from the bowl. But it will start right away one click when i turn it on. What i did recently is a replaced the old mikuni carb with the same size aftermarket one as ot was getting quite problematic but the new carb has a different needle position as it only has 3 layers that i can put the clip whereas the mikuni has 5 layers. I was using the middle position or 2nd layer. I mean my scoot has always been noisy but not like this. Did i just break my piston, clips, crank? It all happened after i rode the scoot.

What's the jet size in the new carburetor vs the old one? Did you jet-in the new carburetor? It could be needing a way bigger jet than the old one even if they look the same on the outside.

I actually didn’t upjet the main jet and used the same #105 size. Should i go the next size up or 2? I will buy a jet today as i don’t have one lying around the house. And uave you heard the sound is that normal?thanks

My Eton sounds like that at idle, and I suspect it's merely the starter clutch rattling. The noise goes away as soon as I twist the throttle. That sounds healthy, really. It may be hard, but can you get a video of riding it?

Now i know where the noise comes from. It’s my belt slapping. M using a dayco 808x16.8 belt for my chinarelli 70cc scoot. Normally my belt size is a 797 or 792 x 16.6 belt but it looks quite short and won’t be able to use the full potential. Is this normal for longer belts? Or do i need to go back to the shorter ones? Thanks

Weird! I've seen 780x17 on stock engines, and mine is a 788x17... and I feel like I need a longer belt. Do you have a way to up the frame rate? The video slows down the action of the belt too much. What does it look like at rest, with the engine off?

With the engine off, the belt is not loose and feels snug enough. The belt however rides higher on the rear pulley more than usual with shorter belt. Like it lies slightly above the edge of the torque driver.
