Dumbest thing I did today was wash the Suzuki then we had about an inch of hailstones splatter down from the heavens. Pushed the scooter in started it up to dry engine before damp set in saw the garage had someone working close to it so turned off so they wouldn't get all the fumes come back later now wont start. I got spark but moisture got in somewhere so time to leave it for a few day's and try again. Doh! By the way what scooter is it?

Damn... I have it now.... it’s so wonderfully stupid. You can disengage the transmission by twisting the left grip. The headlight switch goes high-off-low, even the taillight turns off. The kickstart is a weird modification of the Vespino pedal start mechanism and feels like you’re kickstarting through modeling clay, but you can roll start it.

It has no brake light. No wiring, no switches, nothing

It has no brake light. No wiring, no switches, nothing Like, intentionally? Built that way, or a bodge from a PO?

I don’t want to change the controls, so I’m gonna see if I can find some sort of switch to mount at the brake drum.

Little piece of aluminum, standard plunger type switch, some creativity, and you've it working. Good luck!
