Got another scoot coming to me for free.
Yamaha CV80 Riva. Not sure about the year. My neighbor commented on my Instagram post about being almost done with the Pink Vino asking if I wanted another one for free. She got it 7yrs ago and hasn't touched it and is sick of it sitting in her garage. She's a motorcycle lady not a scooter lady. So it'll be coming over to me.
It's a white one and is in pieces so I'll just have to rebuild it. Should be fun/a giant headache that'll make me wanna ride it into the Schuylkill river most likely.

went out on the bike today forgot to put more 2 stroke oil in my tank and just run fuel :/
made it to work and on the way back soft seized ended up having to push it back half a mile as would not restart after adding oil so hope its just the rings gone and not the piston and bore
i have 2 big cans of fuel in the shed one thats premixed and the other is not mixed so think i put the fuel in from the unmixed can as was putting the fuel in at 3am when it was dark and with the unmixed can being dark green and the mixed being a black can i just did not see it right

Be fine! 😱 My son built the bottom end up. Then he had seen the Yamabond sitting on the floor unused.

I bought a performance cooling fan for my Thunder, which came with a set of allen bolts attach it. As I was having a bad arthritis day, and I forgot to grab my allen keys, I decided to use the OEM bolts to attach the fan. Heck, they looked close enough to the same length. After discovering the scooter would not start, it looks my stator is not working. No resistance. The mounting holes are a little deeper in the fan than the OEM, and the allen bolts, after a second look, are definitely shorter. I am making a huge guess that I hit something with one of the bolts. I did not touch anything but the fan and shroud. I need to stop trying to be a mechanic. And listen to that little voice in my head that tries to be heard over the knee pain.

Yep, it's new stator time. That is really a bummer!

Done exactly the same myself put on a new stator then to longer bolts for the fan and no working stator. We live and learn.
