I too just got called for jury duty too. I am guessing I will not have to. Our new number is 115, 75 from our county.

I’m about to go for a long and lonely run, as most of them are haha. Glad I can still do at least some of the things that keep me sane.

Our Mayor just ordered a Stay In Place order for the city. It starts Friday at 5pm so I guess I get a really long weekend. They do exclude essential travel though. I can see me telling the cop, "really I needed to do this speed run for 49ccScoot" or "I really needed a quart of milk right now". Could you guys write me a note so I can get out of it? The good news is I get paid and health insurance while the money lasts.

Our outboard engine drive is in beta test mode. So is the engine. The outdrive housing and both drive shafts are stainless and carbon fiber, which we cannot find. (The SS is simply cut, but specific carbon tubes NOT) Engine can be run as is...but we are going EFI and need to make a few prototype parts. No shop open. Haha...I just made a tapered bronze bushing for my prop mount. (By hand) 14.5mm x 18.25 ID on prop x 60mm prop bore length....plus a 14mm threaded prop nut thread at the end. (+18mm stick out?) Try that with no lathe. Oh, and it has a roll pin/shear pin hole (Uhhh, no threads yet) I don't drink much, but surely no Corona. Some shops may open for a single customer for a little money. Just keep masks on and keep your distance.

We are now in a three week lockdown in the U.K. Only essential services are staying open. Only allowed out for exercise once a day, or to get food.
I am in the high risk category. So government advise is 12 weeks isolation. Can't get sick pay from company, as not sick. Company is still working. So can't get any benefit from the government. Go to work and there is a high probability of catching the virus. Basically I'm screwed!

I have been sitting at home trying to figure out where to get food when I run out in a couple days. I am 66 with health issues so if I get the virus I am dead. There still seems to be a lot of people out driving around. Do you have any neighbors or family members that might be able to help you out? This situation sucks. Many people in my area seem to be staying at home. Not enough. If only we all had enough food and supplies to hang out at home for 2 weeks. I think we could get through this rather quickly if everyone helped each other out. I'm scared as hell that my grandmother, who recently had her first chemo treatment (damn near killed her, put her in ICU for a while) might catch this. My neighbor has COPD, I've been helping him out with getting food and whatnot. I'm mostly hanging out at home, avoiding people, washing my hands, not touching my face. Mostly trying to protect those at greater risk. I hope we're over this soon.

I don't think most people in my area are changing much (aside from hoarding). I live on a main road and traffic really hasn't decreased much. Non-essential businesses are closed, so I thought it should decrease a lot. I guess I can't say too much. I'm probably going to go out on the scoot later today for non-essential reasons. Covid-19 pandemic or not, I've always wanted people to stay away from me. lol No plans to be around anyone and I've got hand sanitizer under the seat (again before all of this stuff started) in case of emergency (gas or bathroom breaks). Here's the current map of MD. Most of my rides are somewhere in the circled region, so thankfully I'm not in a super high risk area right now.

Go to work and there is a high probability of catching the virus. Basically I'm screwed! I think some of us old guys...bud and max and maybe milly and me? In the same leaky boat. I have a pension, that floats on the economy...USA and UK mostly...currently -50% of shite. Our soon to be...or used to be...product line was robust and not too complex, but was lacking a few things with commodities not readily available. OK...We can build them. However, where is the market? It choked itself. Sooo, we are going to progress with simpler methods, lesser quality, but build a base here that can be expanded. Timing of Covis-19 was shit....our cash flow is soggy like US TP use....but we are going to move it on! Ohh, yeah, I am high risk...heart history, 63...not too bad from my view, but I had a Hanoi hit! Dengue fever from a mosquito a few months ago. Now...Covis is a virus, but the SE Asia data shows weak "elderly's" from former risks, are showing signs of bad two stroke oil and funky electrolosis in their charging system. Mine runs deep. Meaning...if my immune system is still recovering from Dung-ass fever, I could at bigger risk. I don't buy it. No reality TV for me. No sudden vaccines that cure puberty. Fuck off! I am a recluse in my shop, until pressed. Then, I learn to act a bit, drink, then go home and use my brain again. All GOOD!

I work at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. It's the largest and most advanced level 1 trauma hospital in the tri-state area and the docs and staff here have no idea how to handle this. We've closed several hospital units and converted them into RICUs (respiratory ICUs) or just to divert staff to RICUs in preparation for this. Anyone in the hospital is forced to wear a mask and the entire institution has canceled all non-essential procedures for the immediate future. The place is like a walking ghost town that usually has 15k+ employees walking around all day. You can look down large and very long hallways and only see a couple people walking down them. I've been mandated to pickup extra shifts and they are paying us a premium to work in certain areas. Everyone is on edge. It's very surreal.
I've seen many people infected with the virus and can tell you, no matter how old you are, you do not want to catch this. It is not a normal flu and the symptoms are not like anything you've experienced when you've had the flu previously. Even younger people that catch it look absolutely horrible and are expected to experience lifelong respiratory damage with other possible lifelong symptoms as well. This is not some casual flu that some people happen to be dying from. It's different.
Take what precautions you can to avoid it and "better safe than sorry" is the correct attitude to have right now. I'm not an alarmist and am usually much too carefree about most things in life (sometimes to a fault) and this is not something I am taking any chances with. That being said, I'm not wearing a mask in public and am not running off the sidewalk and onto the grass when I pass someone while out for a walk. Just like any virus, you have to have contact with a fluid from another person to get it. Unless someone happens to jump in front of you and cough in your face, you're not going to catch it from a passerby. I work in an environment, where at times I'm surrounded by people with the virus and I've been fine and all 350 of my coworkers have too. Be rational, wash your hands when you get home from the grocery store, maybe wear gloves when out, don't touch your face until you've thoroughly washed your hands. Just be sensible.
And the whole mask or covering your mouth thing is kind of silly. If that virus were going to enter your body via your mouth or face and you're wearing a mask when someone runs up tom you and coughs on your face, the mask or face covering is now just holding the virus on and near your face. Then later, when you take the mask off, it will be on whatever you touched the mask or scarf or whatever with... the masks are to protect other from fluid leaving an infected persons body, not vice versa. Can actually do more harm than good for non-infected people.
Just the three cents... haha

Just had a chat with my wife's cousin. She is a nurse in the south of england and staff are getting mugged for their I.D. badge's because some shops and other places allow them in when the public are not there and give them free food and coffe and such like as they are on the front line. I cannot think of words to say for the lowlife that are doing this to people risking their lives, make's my fuggin blood boil.
