The R has a perforated inner baffle cone, perhaps that wasnt welded right and is making that sound..Here is a pic of it in this report; www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/tecnigas-exhaustYes i did open it, it seemed like i where it meets together it was touching, there was like 2-3 dabs of welds , i put few more , same. As far as the kick stand , i try removing it i was that desperate .... same thing.

Are you sure it's not a body panel or something? I'd try kind of hugging the rear of the bike (avoiding anything hot) and seeing if the noise changes.

The body panels are vibrating as well, me and my buddy were holding them down, when you sitting next to the bike is very obvious that is coming from that area , exhaust , not even close to the stator , i am going crazy i hate noises lol

Just start using sheet metal screws, to hold the panels together, watch out for wires and hoses. Heavy amounts of sarcasm intended.

I am thinking of pulling the engine apart , i cant handle it lol , today i took the variator out , started the bike , there is nothing else that can possibly be making the noise,if i havent messed up the cylinder yet , what should my ring gap be ? where can i check that , the kit didn't came with any instructions ... Thank.

Does the sound frequency seem to change in proportion to the RPMs? FYI, if you’re in a computer and on the 49ccscoot.com site, there’s a floating widget on your left that has a “calculators” tab and that has a ring gap calculator.

Thanks i found it, no didn't had a chance to pull the other bike out, tomorrow hopefully. Could it be the needle bearing on the piston bushing ? Its brand new and came with the crank but ...

Alright guys, i think i found the problem. I split the engine, couldn't resist, everything inside looks great , crank bearings, piston, rings, needle bearing ... everything but the play (left and right) on the crank. I know there is suppose to be some play, but this one seems excessive. What do you guys think ?

That does seem excessive!Lots of the old school European 2strokers had slop like that, but had steel shims at the piston pin to keep the rod centered..So,I'd say somebody messed up on that crank build!I'd send that vid to the folks you bought the crank from,if they are good business folk, you should get a new one!!

That’s pretty excessive... Stock is around .2-.4mm the malossi stuff I run has been .18-.22mm. Call up whoever you got it from and hope they take care of you.

Any progress on this problem? My Yasuni R is having the same issue. At least I believe it’s my exhaust. It happens even when the ignition is off and I’m coasting. I might scope it to see if I can identify a broken internal weld.
