Is using a oko 26mm carb to much to use on a 70cc big bore set up can't get it to idle and does this type of carbs use air filters? I'm also sure I have a shitty oko carb

26 is too big and air filters are always required, they do Not impede performance, and an airbox typicly aids performance and tuning.

26mm = 530mm area 21mm = 346mm area 19mm = 283mm area
This is just a little food for thought, going from a 19mm carburetor to a 26 mm carburetor is not just 7 mm, it almost doubles the area for air flow. You reduce the air velocity, usually causing tuning issues or driveability issues. Not saying what size you should get, but could make tuning it interesting.

You can run 28mm OKOs on 70cc setups. Difficult to tune to get it to run smoothly through out the throttle range.
Good for Wide Open Throttle. Not so smooth in the midrange and low.
Do some reading and research before you try that carb. Dexameth's thread on PWK's has a lot of good info.
If you try to just jump right into it, you're going to hate that carb. It is a headache to tune it if you are not familiar with it. However, once you understand the PWK type carbs, riding at full throttle is a blast.

Air box would simplify tuning and quiet the carb down (those carbs are Loud). I have never run a pod filter on the OKO but i use mesh/screen.
You really should get a pilot jet kit, a main jet kit, and a cylinder head temp gage. It will make tuning a lot easier. So much easier to tune main jet with a temp gage.
Are you planning on running premix or staying with stock oil injection? Premix requires bigger jetting over oil injection.
Why do you want to run a large OKO anyway? Is it to be like the typical Hawaii setup: no filter large OKO carb? Or are you looking for full throttle performance?
Prior to installation, you should opened up the carb to clean and inspect to make sure the seals are properly installed and to clean out any metal chips/shavings. My knock off OKO came with metal chips/shavings in the float bowl.
