Movies? I am saving them for my dotage, but I have seen a few on TV and enjoyed them,I am always amazed that quotes from films drift into common language and somehow I know which film they are from.I will have to ask the grandkids for help when I tackle Star Wars in my hash induced fuzz. Geoff I’ll give you some good recommendations when you’re ready. I don’t watch TV, but have seen many YT videos and quite a few movies.

Home theater will have to suffice.
I would have liked to go to New Zealand years ago but they don't take old people.
You can freeload in our guest bedroom unbeknownst to NZ if you’d like. There’s worse places to begin living as an illegal alien.

Well yesterday my mum had her covid injection she said when phoned her the staff wanted to see her so she could not be on phone long. Said I would ring today and this afternoon I had when I looked at phone had a voicemail which arrived hours late as normal. Checked it manager said my mum not well. I phoned back and she got covid! I did ring about a week to 10 days ago to raise my concerns and spoke to the manager about her breathing and they got a Dr. out to the home. My mum did say then that the manager said there was nothing wrong with her to which my mother said she could be bloody dead and they would'nt notice. No one today seemed to know what was going on and I had to ring back 3 times before spoke to mum. Tomorrow morning I have to ring the manager who might be in they are not sure. Things have changed since my nursing days when someone at least would know whats going on or have a nursing log of notes.

Bad luck that the vaccine came too late for her. I hope she gets well.

Milly, I'm sorry to hear that. Nursing homes here have been the worst place for getting it.

Vaccine is available for first responders etc. Getting enough vaccine and getting it distributed seems to be a problem in the US. It is supposed to be free but we have many 'covidiots' that won't wear masks or take the vaccine. Nothing is really free, it gets paid for anyway. Because of that 'doubting tomas' problem the situation is going to get much, much, worse. I am afraid millions will die and many more will be maimed for life by the disease. I am well aware from personal experience what happens when a disease runs rampant and there is no vaccine. I was maimed by the measles when I was little, -brain and eye damage. The measles vaccine came too late for me. The Covid will kill me also. I just hope the vaccine will get to me in time. The 'side effects' of the Covid are really bad.

Thank you geoffh pinkscoot FrankenMech and all others. My mum is stable, unfortunately cannot speak to her that often well only once actually due to the unstable signal in the care home but now the weather has improved hopefully the signal there will as well.

Hopefully she is one of the lucky ones who gets mild symptoms. There was a woman in the news the other night. She is 103, and has beat it twice now. Fingers for for your mum.

Well mums out of isolation and I had a good chat with her yesterday. She is doing well. The 3rd February I am booked in for my covid vaccination in the town of Oswestry Wales 110 miles from home. It's a bit complicated if you are registered with a Welsh doctor but work in England because there I am classed as a frontline worker looking after a vulnerable person with a pass to travel to work to show police as we are in lockdown and would not get mine here till April. All a bit confusing really.
