I bought myself Keeway f-act evo 50cc 2t very cheap (about $100) previous owner said, when the engine warms up cuts out and dont start again. Knowingly bought it anyway. Got it home and started, ride around about 1 hour and 2 miles from, cut out and died. Checked everything I can at the roadside - nothing. Have to push it home under the warm sunshine and little bit up hill also. Done compression test and it was 2 bar 😳 I knew then it piston related. Took engine apart to see my surprise, it was piston and rings. As you can see from photos. New cylinder, piston, rings, pin and roller bearing in the post. While waiting for the post to arrive, I took out the stator to check oil pump is working and guess what, that plastic gear is worn so bad that it wasn't pumping oil in to the carb. As a result, plastic gear worn, no oil going to engine, piston and rings smoked. So now, I have 3 projects to done, Cylinder set, oil pump gear, Front damper seals.

Nice find! Looks like the oil pump may have locked up, I would check it good or toss it out and go to premix. You should check the crank bearings too, no oil is hard on them. Which cylinder kit are you going to use?

Welcome to the forum. I would just junk the pump and go premix. Though the convenience of running the pump sees most people carry on using it.

I have already ordered the plastic gear. We will see how long it will go. I will use bike sometimes on sunny days, to local shops, fun and so on. Previous owners, 1st was a woman and 2nd was a young man about 25. For a 8 year old bike (very good condition, except for the engine) with 7k km, $100 paid for it and if I spend another $100, still cheap run around 😀👍

While waiting for the plastic gear to arrive, I managed to spin oil pump by hand, not locked up and coming through. That's a good sign.
Will update when parts arrive - there is a lot of delays in post due to crisis 😷😷😷

You can take the oil pump off. Then put the drive shaft into an electric drill. If you run it in reverse, if should pump oil out. Might be worth checking just to make sure it is ok, before fitting the new kit.

Opened the throttle full and spin the spindle on the pump by hand (correct direction) and oil is start to come out. 👍👍👍😀

Those photo's look more like dirt ingestion than oil starvation to me. Did you get it with airbox/filter in good condition? Do a finger swipe into the intake tract to make sure the seller didn't just stick on a filter to sell it.
I agree with Oldgeek on the crank bearings. In my experience with oil starvation the bearings crapped out long before the rings showed major problems.

When I bought it, everything is on the bike as should be. I have noticed few things, like dry air filter, rusty spark plug (make "Denso" ), half filled gear oil, original fuel filter, original front and back brake pads. My experience tells me, lack of service and TLC. For 8 year old, it is in very good condition, I had very worse bike than this one. Previous owner told me , he saw engine oil light came on and he didn't know what it was until he came home. I guess he drove some distance before he put oil.
