The Rougbhouse and Buddy platforms are nice and I enjoy them. The biggest issue was pipes. Yasuni makes a pipe specifically for the Roughhouse, but its only a Yasuni Z. I think there's a ProRep made for the PGO motors as well but I'm not sure. I made a bracket that allows you to use the Yasuni pipes on the Roughhouse cases but that isn't a perfect solution.
Everything else is really pretty great. Its *really* nice being able to order factory quality parts direct. Replacements for essentially every part on the scooter is available. If you want to use a quality 2T and want something with active factory parts support the Roughhouse is the best option IMO.

I pulled the motor recently. My goal is to have everything buttoned up for the Spring riding season, hopefully by mid March everything will be good to go.
It was feeling like a constant battle with gremlins this last few months. One thing would start working then another thing would break. I think during my initial assembly I got excited and rushed through a lot of processes that resulted in the gremlins I've been battling. So I decided to just go for broke and strip the whole scooter and start from square one. I want to clean up the wiring harness first then work from there. I figure this way I will be able to work methodically and be sure everything is done correctly.

That's not a bad plan if you have time. Hopefully it will save you a lot of problems.

I've been trying to purchase some gears for this scooter to no avail. I found out that Polini makes a set of gears for the PGO Big Max and PGO PMX which takes the same motor as the Roughhouse. However nobody in America seems to sell them. I'm at a loss on how to purchase these things. Its part number 202.1421 in their catalog.

I just got a buddy 50, so ive been all over the net buying parts. What didnt you like about the mounting of the yasuni r. It looked like it fit well with the stock mounting bracket. What did you have to do to make it mount? Just elongate the hole? I really wanna order this same pipe to mount to a stage 6 streetrace.

The buddy and roughhouse use different motors. The buddy is the short case version of the roughhouse. The Yasuni R just straight up didn't fit. I had to shave down the small case half mounting holes to fit. I had to retread the holes to make sure there was enough thread on the mount. I had to design a completely custom exhaust bracket in CAD and have it laser cut. Nothing about the pipe fits like it should.
Supposedly there's a version of the pipe that's meant for PGO cases. Frankly I've never seen it and I doubt it fits. PGO anything is a pain in the ass when it comes to parts.

Its funny you say that, cause ive honestly been thinking the buddy is a joy to work on compared to the kymco super 9 and like 5 gy6 bikes ive had so far. Well despite the challenges of getting a yasuni onto the pgo, im going to be pairing a yasuni r with a stage 6 streetrace now. Dont give up on your build yet. Will be really cool to see your project come to a completion, or whatever we call our never ending projects.

The scooters are clearly well made and well put together. It's great having first party parts support. What I hate about the Genuine stuff is aftermarket parts support. So many parts that are listed as fitting just simply don't.
Having now worked on the Honda platform its such a drastic improvement its nuts. The parts are easy to find and they *always* fit. I'm finishing the build for sure but I have no plans to keep it.

Man you weren't kidding about the exhaust bracket not working for the yasuni r. I dont know how you even got your's to line up on the case mounts at all! Im fabbing up a bracket today.

Yeah it straight up won't fit. I have a completely custom bracket. If you scroll back through the thread you'll find the cad file for the bracket.

Did you end up ditching the electric starter gear with the malossi multivar? My kicker cup is barely on the splines and i dont think i want to risk trashing a crank like this... not a very cool way to ruin a crank. Lol

And there's the leak. I have a leaky base gasket on my Corsa. This leaves me a little confused though. The base gasket for the Corsa is a piece of stamped aluminum/stainless steel (?). It doesn't make sense to me that this gasket would leak. What should my next steps be? Hondabond the base gasket? Metal gaskets like the one on the Corsa I thought went untreated. Edit: I know why it was leaking. The case halfs that PGO produced were slightly out of whack. One half was ever so slightly taller than the other on the carter opening. It just a smidgen but I bet it's enough to make a thin non-compressable aluminum gasket leak. So I decided to coat the gasket in Hondabond and let it cure overnight. I'm thinking that was causing my leaking problems.
