Small update. I leak tested the motor and she's air tight! I mounted the motor up into the roughhouse and installed the stator and CVT components. The next steps are to strip the whole panels off the scooter for engine testing purposes. It's within reach now!

The secondary gears listed for genuine scooters on scooterpartsco work btw. I installed mine today and my buddy's final drive is now 9.5 to 1. The RH and buddy definitely have the same gearbox too.

Always do your idiot checks.
I woke up today feeling invigorated to get the roughhouse started up and moving well. That vigor quickly turned into the 5 stages of grief. The thing just wouldn't start. I tested everything. Fuel is definitely getting to the carb. Not a fueling issue. I did spark checks all over the motor and frame, sparking no problem. I cleaned out the carb and made sure there was no funky buildup in there. But nothing changed, still not starting. I spent about 4 hours digging around. Trouble shooting, checking, re-checking everything. I was sure it was an ignition timing problem. I pulled the flywheel and gave it a thorough inspection with a new woodruff key and tightened everything to spec. I put a 14mm socket on my drill and let her rip on the flywheel, nothing. No pops, snaps, sputtering, nada. I threw in the towel and thought I may as well install the exhaust and come back to it tomorrow. Guess what was still on the exhaust port? If you guessed the block off plate and rubber gasket for pressure testing then you would be right. I sat on my shop floor in total shock for a few moments before quietly grabbing my milwaukee gun and zipping it off.
Started first kick. Roared to life even. What a day.
Always do your idiot checks.

Oh man thats a big oversight. Lol

Updates: Dash mostly finished. Mounted it up to check it out. Radiator cowling is unfinished. Mounted just for the fun of it. I need to repaint the cowling and add the shroud for the edges of the radiator. Walkaround

First ever ride on the roughhouse. Rode great all up until my driveway. It started making a *horrifying* metal on metal clanking. I turned off the bike and rolled it out back. Gave her a kick and.....nothing. Zero compression Turns out the little kicker cup came loose off the end of the crank. It was rattling back and forth and wasn't engaging the splines on the crank. I examined the bore and crank, no issues! So happy it was a small problem. Beach ride How does this plug look? In my mind it looks pretty good.

I am aquiring a roughhouse today and will be starting a build Thread . I see you bought a yss shock instead of the ncy low down ruckus shock. Which one model and size ? I want to lower it a little bit because I just feel a little top heavy compared to my zuma I do like the stock seat so I will probably leave as is
Are you still able to use the center stand and the kick stand like before ?

Imo the best mod outside a pipe is new suspension. The roughhouse has a super high stock ride height. I went with NCY low down forks and a YSS shock that matches the dimensions of the low down NCY shock. I've found the YSS to be of comparable quality to the NCY stuff I've seen.
I had great luck with a TWH shock from AliExpress as well. Surprisingly good build quality. Tag me in the build thread I want to follow along.

I brought it home today a 2019 with 420 miles . I rode it 42 miles home . Most of the way I was all the way open Because I had to drive from a small town to where I live in the country. The seating position for that long of ride was actually quite confortable . I really liked being able to stretch my legs out . When I first took these for a test drive the seating position is higher than my zuma and definetly feels different On the Zuma you kinda have a slight forward Lean where is the roughouse you sit straight up I might leave it stock or just get a size smaller shock . I can say this about the stock suspension It is better than the stock zuma . Country roads have lots pot holes gravel railroad tracks
What is the hole to hole length of the stock shock?
