Hi forum. I have been sitting on a 50cc ruckus Chinese clone bike for about 3 years doing work on it when I can. My intentions when I bought the bike new was to scurt California law and buy a legal 4 stroke and swap in a 90cc minarelli engine. I wanted to go full on LC performance race engine but over time I have fallen into a romance with the simplicity and appearance of a straight up air cooled engine. In other words I am just going to run the stock cylinder that came with my 90cc crate engine from scrappy's. I had a full out race engine on a 70cc got me over 60 mph with taller gears, Thank you Ryan and 90gt for helping me build that. I gave that bike up awhile back and took on this ruckus clone my dream bike. I have no idea what kind of power I can get out of the stock cylinder I need tunning advice. Also I am having trouble finding parts ie. exhaust for a non race engine but that will ad performance maybe with a port polishing or minor porting. any guidance for this swap will be much appreciated. And yes it was a pain in the a$$ to swap this engine in but I think it will be worth it. Also do the 90cc engines need up gears to get more mph. I hope for a reliable upper 50's mph's. Thanks

Am I reading this correctly JEGZ? You are putting a 90cc two stroke in a Rukster? Sounds cool to me! I also like the simplicity of the air cooled engine, but you will need shrouding, if you have it. Not hard to do.
Port matching, if you want street ability, no need for crazy shite. I see many here with those Taiwan pipes, who's name is at the bottom of this beer...
Jiangwang V-8 or something. They are phat, but make good middle to top power and easy to tune. As I recall, you need CVT tuning down low to get to the power. I think a tad ugly, but they do well on street bikes! Maybe too quiet?

Hey thanks for the response The I did see a few of those stock looking pipes but was hoping to get something pretty with an expansion chamber on it just cant find anything that is not for drag racing at 14000 rpm. I will keep looking because as you said they are ugly as hell.

It should bolt right up, but I am worried that it may not be a 100cc pipe. If it is just a 70cc pipe you could easily have issues.

I dont think there are any 125cc minas, but I could be wrong.
I see several places have the Tecnigas 100cc RS II for Yamaha Minarelli 100cc (BWS) I dont know if it wil fit the 50cc minarelli. Parts between the 50cc Zuma motor and the BWS 100cc motor are not interchangeable generally speaking. You may be able to persuade it to fit, somehow.

Ah yes great info thanks for the reference to the pipe, but will I need taller gears. I read somewhere here or was told that 90's have taller gears for the larger displacement.

10 or 11 to 1 is about the best for 90+ builds, some came with 10 to 1,others had 13.5 to 1..You'll need to spin the clutch bell and see how many times it takes to get the axle to turn a full turn..

Definitely use a CHT gauge on this build just to be safe.
