What type of engine does the roughhouse have is it a minarelli 1E40QMB GY6 ? You should know the Genuine 1E40QMB motor is not a normal yamaha clone. It has a different intake, reeds, carb, crankshaft, oil injector and crank bearings. Its possible to change everything over to Yamaha spec for more parts availability but requires modifying the engine cases and deleting oil injection. Im building out the same scoot right now.

Also of note, if I remember correctly, they use QMB transmission parts instead of minarelli as well. They’re a well built bike, but yeah, it’s an interesting version of the minarelli for sure. Matt

That is correct yes. They take the 139QMB GY6 50 CVT parts. I *think* that means they also can take 139QMB gears but I am not sure. Theres a guy on here who bought gears for his Genuine Buddy from Polini(?) but im not sure if they were Genuine specific or GY6 specific.

The roughhouse isn't my favorite platform for modification. Every time we crack one of those open, it's always an adventure to get it back to operational. Matt

I Have a 2016 Roughhouse with a 72cc Corsa, Malossi Reeds, Polini race clutch, Malosssi Clutch Bell, Polini Race Variator, With a NCY Intake and a 28mm OKO Carb. The Roughhouse engine is actually made by PGO. It is a exact Clone from a PGO Bigmax.. Its hard to find gears which im looking for right now. Here is a link for the secondary-gears scooterpartsco.com/genuine-scooter/genuine-roughhouse-50/malossi-secondary-gears-15-42-for-adly-genuine Im trying to find the primary gears. They don't make a racing crank that I know of either

Model Background Genuine’s decision to debut the Roughhouse name (as opposed to continuing the Rattler name) may appear surprising, as the Roughhouse is a very similar scooter that uses the same core design (frame and motor) as the Rattler 50 and 110. The Roughhouse bears an especially strong resemblance to the Rattler 110, as they both share the same enlarged dual headlights.
The reason for the name change was that the Rattler scooters were based on the ‘naked’ version of PGO’s PMS-50 scooter (PM = model, S = sport), while the Roughhouse 50 is based on the PGO PMX 50 model (note ‘X’ for off-road vs. ’S’ for sport). So the Roughhouse has an ‘off-road’ slant instead of a ‘sporty’ one, and it gets enclosed handlebars instead of ‘naked’ bars like the Rattler scoots. This off-road slant means the Roughhouse gets more aggressive tires, fatter tires on smaller rims (10” vs 12”), mud booties on the forks and a jacked up front fender instead of a lower sporty one.
Genuine’s 2006 only Black Cat scooter was also based on PGO’s PMX design, and thus is virtually the same scooter. The primary differences are the decals on the Black Cat and the larger headlights of the Roughhouse. Genuine couldn’t use the Black Cat name when they brought the PMX model back to the USA for 2008, because the original Black Cat was a limited edition model created in collaboration with Black Cat Fireworks.

heres a funny post i found "Genuine claims the Roughhouse is the most powerful 2-stroke 50cc on the market and once derestricted it compares closely with other speed blessed scooters like Kymco’s Super 8/9, Aprilia’s SR50 and Yamaha’s Zuma. To pick a winner is tough, since all of these scooters share engines with other models and they’re all capable of 45-50mph. For one, Aprilia’s Rally 50 scooter also used the same motor as the Roughhouse. i have an adly rt 50 my speedo is dead accurate checked by radar sighn and cell phone gps speedo when i am going a true 40mph and the roughouse speedo says 40 mph i blow past it like it was standinding still theres is no way that bike is doing 45 mph we bought a brand new one fully derestricted the speedo is way off does maybe 39 mph a true 39 and thats being generous

Matlock I gotta disagree on the speed on the roughhouse. When I got my roughhouse I derestricted it it went 48MPH. The speedo is off but not by much. I would redline it it said 50MPH but after testing it with a radar it said 48.

animo 48 mph is really good for a derestricted roughhouse . I took one for a spin derestricted and the speedometer said 50 and my gps was at 45 . What kinda speeds you hitting now with it all hopped up with the Corsa on it ?

Zino After putting my mods on: - Polini Corsa 72cc Bore kit - Polini speed exhaust - Polini Speed Clutch using the Green Medium Springs - Polini super speed 9 Variator - Polini Kevlar Racing CVT Belt - Naraku Racing Clutch Bell - Naraku Racing CDI No rev limit - NCY 32mm intake - Style Pro Fiber glass reed valve - OKO 28mm carb with #45/#145 Jets - UNI Air Filter
- I Clocked @ 77MPH which is alright but it’s not what I going for. My gearing is still stock with leave my ratio 13.1 I’m having a hard time finding gearing for this build. Also I’m in the process trying to put a 2AB Mini stroker in which is pretty crazy. I had to shave my piston in half to provide clearance on the downstroke. Shave my casing a little to fit on the mag side. By changing the crank now I Have a of modifications to do but according to a lot a people I should hit 90+ MPH if I can find taller gears.

Did you look to see what ratio the gears are. If it's hitting that high a speed. It must already have a gear up fitted, or very long gears as standard.
