The first picture is my plug after cleaning it with a piece of sandpaper. The second is After a real quick WOT hit down the street and back with 34/82 jetting And 2 turns out on the mix amd 2nd notch from top on needle. I feel that the sooting is from the pilot being to rich. Feels less boggy on WOT launch with the 82. Still slow. That's got to do with the crappy tune on the CVT. Wanna get jetting right first.

Well after reading a thread by larryhobman, I decided to give my manual choke set up again. It starts easier, accels a lot happier, revs on the stand a lot happier. Makes me wonder if I'm not now too lean on the main at least. But it get up an go a bit quicker. Got to check the plug again, letting it cool

Hate not having a tach anymore. Just put my orange "unlimited" CDI in and seemed to find a limiter. Maybe it's because of jetting but sounded about 9k like normal. Time to try and put some miles on it. Really wish I could get a colder plug. Gonna try an iriduim soon I think

Manual choke do make tuning easier. When you run better with the choke you know you need to up jet. 4strokes just have a hard time getting high rpms the valves just put a ceiling on the rpms.

Got a new starter bendix on the way as well as some vari shims. Gonna see if shimming will get the belt up or not. Next step will be to get a longer and/or wider belt to try and get it to the top of the clutch. Also I think I have to replace the vari soon as well.

Only things different from last speed run is as follows: 1. Changed the oil at 50 miles 2. Converted to manual choke 3. Installed the orange "performance" CDI 4. Inflated rear tire to 44 psi. 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Did a bit a searching and quite a bit of looking at the pictures of my spark plug. I feel that the plug is too hot. Ignition line is almost at the bottom of the strap. I have found that my local Advance Auto has NGK CR8HSA plugs in stock at 2.49 each. If I'm honest a good part of me wants to get another CR7HSA first and try that, but not feeling like going 20+ miles for a spark plug. I'm currently running a Autolite 4194, which is supposed to cross directly to the CR7HSA.

But I really don't remember I'm probably a bit overinflated but I found the tire flat the other morning. This actually reminds me to go check it again and see if it's still leaking

This bike just keeps going faster. I'm kinda in lust again with the torque of a 4T. Should at least check the plug. I will check the oil, I smell it after a fast pass. But I think imma take Kym towards the beach at least today. Or possibly a distance close to my daily trip 1 way.

Really gotta check plug just to see. Kym is running great. Now I have to put time into CVT tuning. Just to try and to get it to accelerate faster.

Well just found out that I've been running too small a belt on Kym. Been using a 729-17.7 since I bought the scoot. And I've searched this before but just found it yesterday. The proper size belt for a Kymco Agility is 738-18. No wonder the belt has always rode way down in the rear pulley and has seemed to always be sluggish taking off. Gonna see if I can get one local. And if I'm honest just for shits and giggles I'm thinking about trying the stock 3AA Yamaha belt from my Zuma. Which should be 738-16.5. Width isn't right but the length should be spot on.

Got the new starter clutch and vari shims for the Kymco yesterday. Put the bendix in an low and behold it starts again. But found another age related problem, the bushing the bendix rides in is shot. I've wrapped Teflon thread tape around the one end and at least it sits in the bushing a bit snug like it should. Gonna order one with my next PFS order.
I've also played with putting the 3AA Yamaha belt on. Belt sat a lot higher on the rear pulley, but it's to thin and or the wrong angle to grip right. Accel felt slightly better although it was slipping madly. Which caused it to rev a bit higher, and actually hit the "limiter" at about 47 mph. I did put 1.5mm worth of shims behind the vari in an attempt to get the belt to grip but don't think it actually helped anything. So it's back to the 729 belt for now while I ponder belt choices in the 734-738mm range. Found a Naraku 738 18 28 for 🤑 30.99+7.99 shipping on ebay. For now I'm gonna play with boss length and shimming for best performance. I've got 3 bosses, 37.8mm, 38 and 38.4mm. Also think I'm gonna take the 5.8g slider set up out and try tuning with rollers. I've also got a Naraku 1500 rpm contra that's "dieing" to be installed as well. My goal for today is 55mph in a half mile and 12 sec 0-40.
