So I did a search and couldn't find a thread that was like my issue
Zuma could originally do 40 however one day the cable broke . So I replaced it and now it maxes out at 34 mph .
Thoughts ?

Cable adjustment.. or new cable doesn’t have the same pull. Look into the carb and make sure it is opening all the way.

I will tear it down and check to see if it is opening all the way . Also it doesn't turn as much as it did before . Like when I twist the throttle it doesn't make a full rotation like before

The inner cable might be shorter than the old one. You should be able to adjust it at the carb side. If you look at the slide, adjust it so the slide is fully open. You should still leave 2-3mm of free play at the throttle.

jaysan, please excuse our quizzes to your level of knowledge. Often we assume that newbies know the terms.
First...study your throttle cable system. It will usually have a black plastic outer jacket. (Wound inner core, with a cable in the middle)
What aeroxbud is referring to is that many "replacement" cables are sort of universal...maybe a different outside diameter of cable thickness.
If you have too long of a "mounted" length...meaning bolted handlebar point….to carbureter adjuster point, You can have too much loose play. Additionally, if either end is not secured, you have "slop".
Look at those ends and see...tke pictures

So shortness and length would affect speed ?

It could because you would be turning the throttle fully. Before the slide is fully raised.

This was broken but I jb welded it together and half of it broke from the handle area . Throttle feels fine . Doesn't stick but half of this cylinder fell from under the handle bar . Sorry if that doesn't make sense

Is that the nipple that the cable goes through?

Good job! At least the start. I like to fix/replace one thing at a time. This shows wear, but that means more to find. Learning to wipe as it were.
If you have a hard time finding a replacement, try to find a brass tube or even hard aluminum/aluminium tube of the correct ID. Brass is easier...simply braze/weld an end on. Double/increase the thickness of the welded piece.
Or...a stainless piece?

Twisted throttle all the way . Black thing inside goes all the way up . So it's not restrictive . Sorry I am a noob and don't know what it's called .
