So I found a used NHX110 engine locally and scooped it for $80 and the only thing it's missing is the fuel injector. I guess you could say it's missing the exhaust and back wheel, but that's no biggie. First thing I did was pull the variator off and sure enough it was in much better condition that my current. Check out the wear on mine, on the right: There's almost a flat lip at the edge preventing belt travel and you feel it at top speed. I swapped everything over, using just the body from the variator on the spare engine and went for a ride. RPMs were lower, as to be expected... and Hondo pulled up to 54mph! Much smoother "shifting" from a stop to top speed and I feel like it doesn't really bounce off the limiter just hangs there. Lil laggy on take off, so today I installed 11g sliders and it's now amazing. Pretty much exactly how I wanted this thing to be before I even got it. Gotta say, I'm very pleased.

Well dang! Haven't broken a belt in a long time... ended up walking Hondo about 3 miles home yesterday. Was bored and didn't wanna ride hard so I jumped on the easy rider and hit the back streets. Wandering aimlessly around then outta nowhere I felt the quick jolt then my RPMs rose quickly. Pulled over, turned key, started walking. I cleaned all that crud out and pulled the belt from the spare engine I had... Genuine Honda Bando. First I tried a 738x18x30 I had and that limited me to 49; with the Bando I saw 54mph. Crazy thing was when the belt broke it did so without warning. No loss of speed or shuttering during takeoff... it just snapped. Good thing I had the spare!

Replying to your earlier question about shaving the boss. I did it in several increments and didn't have a stock drive boss to compare it to. My guesstimate would be somewhere between 1 and 2 mils. I also put a wider rear tire on it that was slightly larger in diameter.

How did you shave it? Did you have a shop do it? Last question... Do you have belt travel marking before and after shaving? I still need to mark my vari and see where I'm at.

I’d shave the drive face nipple rather than the boss. It’s much easier

It’s much easier No nipple, and steel on these models. Like an enlarged 139QMB drive face.

I marked the drive boss with a marker so I could guesstimate the progress and carefully filed down by hand using a concrete sidewalk and then sandpaper to smooth it down. Circular motions rotating frequently to keep everything wearing down uniformly. I have used this method on at least three different scooters and never had any problems with uneven wear or vibrations. I marked the variator face with a magic marker to check belt travel. If you shave down enough, I recommend placing a washer (same thickness as material shaved from the boss) behind the variator assembly to keep the belt aligned with the clutch pulley.

Few upgrades and tweaks... haven't been online in a while. Found some translucent buttons on AliExpress, under $8 delivered. Package got to USA in 2 weeks and bounced around New Jersey for another 3. Delivered the day before I could file a claim... weird huh. They fit like a charm! Had to reroute the horn wires, absolutely no slack at all. Did not come with kill switch and good thing since this is a 4 wire switch. It's red already. Fitted a 1k contra spring in the clutch, and doubled up on the nylon spring base for a lil extra preload. I then installed 9g sliders, BIG difference. Much better take off and same top speed. Had to replace the crank seal behind the variator. I have no idea how a hole popped in it... Nas weirdly, the mysterious flipped slider! Installed 8 and 10 gram split, no more flipping. Finally got a chance to install the free WishApp lights, and I really like the way it turned out. Makes me want an LED headlight bulb to match the "color". For really no reason but looks, I installed a Ban Jing magnetic oil screen plug.

Also this neat keychain. Whoops, hit post instead of insert image haha! I also installed an eBay "chip" that cost $35 and it definitely works! Takeoff is stronger and everything else is the same. Hondo has been running awesome, much better than when I first got it. Been watching fuel mileage and lowest has been 77, max 97 and avg 88. Tonight I installed a standard GY6 short case belt, 743-18-30, and it gained a full MPH! Just a quick test drive, it didn't feel like it hit the rev limiter but I didn't wanna ride in this rain so I'll see how it does tomorrow on my ride to work. I'm liking this lil bugger more and more...
