Hello, I've bought a new air filter for my Yamaha Jog with a Yamaha Aerox engine. Its a pod filter, it wasn't able to run as it was too much air for it so I had to improvise. I took my broken stock filter and took out the actual filter and stuffed it in the pod filter, runs fine. Upgraded to a minareli exhaust, much better torque, but when I'm at 60-65km/h it feels as it goes back and fourth like its struggling or something. Do I need a bigger main jet to fix this issue?

sounds like jetting maybe off pod filters let so much more air in over the panel filter still

Mr chill is right See this poll 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/26558/stock-air-open-filter-discussionWhat does your current Plug Look like ? I would do a wide open plug chop . Pick a area you can go wide open for a mile . Warm it up with your current plug . Jump on it blast down the road Full Blast . Run at least a mile at that speed . With the throttle wide open hit the kill switch coast to stop . Swap plugs back to your old plug. Take the wide open plug to your work shop and hack saw the threads off . We want a 2 mm (size of a # 2 pencil lead )light smoke ring at the base of the plug. If no ring you are way under jetted .

Open filters often require 15%-25% bigger jetting. Here is a good picture to reference for your plug.

Thank you all, would a 100-122 delloroto main jet kit would do the job? If that reaches up into that range . When you do the plug chop and post up a picture . If you have some color you are under 10% on jetting no color you are over 10% Lean will sound higher pitched and Zingy Rich will sound deep Bwah

It didn't even start with 120-128 kit That range of jet sizes (120-128) is what i ran on my filterless 28mm OKO carb with CT intake manifold on a 94cc minarelli with oil injection. If i was to run premix the jetting would have to be larger.

No 100-122 is way too large!. You should be around 95 main jet if you have a performance pipe and big bore kit. If you are running a stock 50cc and stock exhaust you should be more near a 75 MJ size.
