Hi guys my parts finally came today and I see a huge problem. Everything was going perfect until i went to bolt the cylinder and head on . Some reason the bolts won't go in by a tiny bit. Almost like the holes in the cylinder are to tight . Please tell me this is the right kit or I can make it work because it took forever to get here and is supposed to be the one but look at the squish gap as well . Is that right ? And what do I do about the bolt holes ? I'm not even sure I can return it now and it was $270 dollars. Please help .. Here is the squish gap : photos.app.goo.gl/zp59G9xeqHyZTikW7photos.app.goo.gl/HG29EhjniJ24jARw6 And here is how small amount the holes are off .Photo is showing Old head with new cylinder . photos.app.goo.gl/rM4ZyzPd7BsoKZv2Aphotos.app.goo.gl/Bm9EmMFJoDMDSy4A8Can I drill the cylinder holes a little bigger? Or what are my options at this point ? I hope I'm not totally screwed

I would leave the cylinder bolts in the case and then try to install the top end. Thats how ive always done cylinder installs... there have also been times that I needed to "push" the cylinder bolts a little bit one way or another while doing that.
Your best bet is to get some real measurements. How far are they spaced in your block and how far are they on the new cylinder. That will tell you if you are just having some kind of warping difficulty or if they truly are miss matched.

As far as the ports and exhaust port direction etc and everything looks the same , just the 4 bolt holes are a tiny bit off, they wont go unless i open the holes in the cylinder up a little.hoping this is an option.and by watching a few videos just now the piston looks about the right squish clearance. like i said now that everything is open and partially installed i highly doubt i can return it and really hoping im not out all that money. Seeing my engine is so different from others and this matches ports etc i cant see how its the wrong kit.Should i drill the holes in the cylinder a size or 2 up? or can that hurt anything

I would measure before you cut anything. Make sure its actually a problem. I get that it doesnt fit, but confirm the issue before you start trying to fix it.
Someone else here might have a better idea of what the drilling could effect. I suppose all its doing is holding the cylinder down and as long as the cylinder matches the case it shouldnt be a problem, but Ive never done it so I cant recommend that you do it.

That squish looks right for the malossi cylinder. I have put Plenty On . Can you measure from the Outer edge of the holes for the cylinder and the block .
Like Theo said I leave the studs on and then slide cylinder over studs . I have never removed the studs and reinstalled them to put on a kit. I have had to work them on a little some times to get them to fit .
I just want to make sure this is a spacing issue not a diameter of stud issue . Are those new studs ?

I drilled the holes a little bigger and seems to run fine .ran it for like 30 minutes but its raining so I'll let you guys know how it goes if the rain ever stops

Just updating since it's been a few months. After drilling the holes it's been running perfect and is one hell of a kit . Scooter has a really nice powerband that pulls you back and the scooter will rip to 60mph now . This scooter could barely hit 28mph before the upgrades so it was well worth it . Although my crankshaft bearings are still gone and I need to tear the engine down eventually and replace the crank. Funny enough though the crank bearings have been gone the entire time yet everyday I take this scooter to work . Just having trouble finding the right crankshaft for my engine since the SYM Jet 50 evo has that weird 2 stroke that's not common . Any help finding the crank would be highly appreciated. (Crank, bearings and seals ) and any gaskets needed to do the job. thanks guys and hope this thread helps someone that runs into the same problem with the kit not fitting .
