Oh dear. I guess it's time to pull it apart and see what the damage is. Yep. I have a feeling that it was run for a while without oil, or working pump. And me switching it to premix just freaked it all the way out. This has got me looking at cranks again. And big spline High Quality cranks seem to few and far. Scooter tuning has stockers but with the Polini cast/ported "Corsa" cylinder I have to put on it doesn't seem smart to go back stock.

The few times I have changed cranks. I put a good one in. It means later on if you want to change your setup, you don't need to go and change the crank again.

Big things getting ready to happen for this bike. Actually gonna rebuild the engine from Becky to install in him for now. Being that engine already has 15/50 upgear, NO JIS screws I've come across so far and a working oil pump,as I am a bit too lazy to premix on the road. As well as everything else, vari, intake carb, Yasuni R
Gonna put that motor in Oliver mainly because he has a full body and Becky is in dire need of a new change of clothes. lol.

I just got an Oliver City CPI 50cc too. The previous owner ran it and I think that the oil pump seized. Wondering if its worth it to replace the motor (if possible) or If I should go through and fix it (I was told by someone that this is a a Suzuki motor??)? Does this scooter have a Chinese motor that can easily be swapped with a GY6 (with some welding)? And/OR can this motor be run when the oil pump has been removed?
Thanks.

You can remove the oil pump and pre-mix. Just never forget to pre-mix when you are filling up.
It's a clone of the Minarelli like some Yamaha and other scoots use. Commonly known as the 1E40QMB, which is the engine code usually found near the rear shock absorber on the top of the engine case.
I'm a two-stroke fan, so I don't like to see a 2T swapped for a GY6. They're both top mount (if you mean the GY6 125-150) and probably not that tough to mount, but you'll have to do a little electronic work like replacing the CDI and reg/rec and possibly a wiring change or two.

seems very common for oil pumps to fail on these. i also had a cpi oliver city got it with a polini sport for like $300. i love the big tires and rear disk brakes awesome stopping power. it still was lacking in accel. until i swapped out the intake to accept a 28mm carb and a koso chambered pipe and it REALLY came to life. unfortunately i was to inexperienced to have added ablittle oil in the mix as a precaution and it wsd still usinh pump my new carb i put on didnt have oil feed so i put the oil line on to to the intakes feed dont know if that was the reeason but i seized the bugger after only two days of switching set up the cranks connecting rod main bearing went to hell and scrrwed the cylinder too. so wise choice premixing good luck great find!

It's taken 6 months but my "combo" build is getting ready to start. Beckys engine, Oliver's frame. Just ordered these parts yesterday.
Stage 6 10mm HPC crank Naraku 47mm (70cc) piston New yasuni exhaust gaskets Malossi yellow contra
Had planned to go bigger on this build but this should get me back "smokin". Will be reusing the HOCA cylinder that I ported last year. Along with the stage 6 big valve reeds/intake, CP21 carb, and Yasuni R pipe. As a reminder Becky's engine also has 11.28 gearing. And while the cases are apart I'm gonna do a bit of trenching and make sure my ports don't have any sharp edges.

Just gonna say this, TO HELL WITH JIS. Looks like I'll be disassembling Becky's engine with bolt and screw extractors. And a lot of freeze off. Hind sight being what it is, I shoulda got a new screw and bolt set. But the build is underway.

These impacts are surprising effective. We're the only thing to ever get the aluminium bolts out of my motocross bikes.

I actually just went and bought a $9 impact driver from harbor freight. So disassembly continues. When everything goes back together again I'm gonna put new case bolts in, that have either a hex or allen cap.

Well I've found a small issue so far. I've got a half stripped hole for the reed block. I've got some steelstik I could stuff in the hole and retap it. BUT, I've also got the 860 mile CPI block that I could build instead. Although I'd really like to use the CPI block for a 86cc or bigger stroker build.
Upside is the impact driver is the best $9 I've ever spent for my scooters. Works amazing. 5 minutes and I've got the case screws and the oil pump removed. Couple snap rings and some heat and hopefully the crank and bearings will just fall out the cases

Well after sleeping on it, I'm just gonna rebuild the CPI block to defeat any issues from the stripped hole in the Baccio block. Which I believe the best way to fix that is to have it Aluminium mig or tig welded and retapped. So this means everything from Becky is being swapped over.
