So a couple days ago the top part of my header broke off. I've been searching for muffler kits, but none of the headers look like mine. As you can see in the pic, there's a small part that is attached to the header and a small tube that runs off this part up into the engine. It's a Bahama VIP 150cc scooter. And I can't stand how loud it is anymore. Like I'm straight piping it. Any help with finding the right kit would be greatly appreciated.

The exhaust systems for these are pretty generic. Most should be able to be fitted no matter what brand you purchase. You might be able to take yours to a muffler shop, or a welding shop, and have it repaired. You do want to make sure the bolts supporting the muffler are installed and tight. The weight of the muffler assembly is too much for the pipe alone to bear, and likely would result in pipe failure. tom

I do not see that exact exhaust with that side support pipe anywhere on the net. Your'e best bet is like unk says take it off and bring it to a shop they can weld that right up for you. Stronger than the factory.Even better they can add supports and reinforce header pipe where it shows signs of high stress. Let us know how you make out with the QT-12A.

Thanks for the replies.
After further inspection, that hose that comes off just goes up near the trunk and dead ends with some kind of air filter. So I'm wondering, do I even need that hose?
And is it possible I could just buy a kit and it would work out if it fits?

I think you have a partially removed PAIR system. Puls Air Injection R=something. Air gets pulsed into the exhaust to promote more complete combustion and possibly to dilute the exhaust. I have/had some with some sort of valve that was piped into the exhaust pipe and had rubber tubing heading off to who knows where. You can likely just replace with more common and available alternates. Or you can take it off and have someone weld it back together. Having it welded may be less costly and give quicker results. If you need more affirmation of what the parts are about, you might take some pictures with the seat 'tub' removed so all the bits and pieces can be seen in their glory. Or not. tom

Here are two examples of the PAIR emission systems on a Chinese 50 and a 150. They look a little different, but the operation is the same. They use the varying pressures in the exhaust system, to operate a valve which injects fresh air into the exhaust system, close to or on the cylinder head. This system does nothing to performance....it supposedly reduces emissions at the tail pipe. The first photo is the system off a GY6 50cc, the second is off a 150. There may be other PAIR systems on different scoots.....that look somewhat different. But they work in a similar manner. These systems are found on many newer Chinese scooters.Bottom line remove and just get the new one your looking at if you want brand new.

Thanks again for the replies, and the help.
Since it won't really affect the scooter except for the emissions as Mech Warrior says, I'll go find a new kit.
Getting it welded as GrumpyUnk suggests would mean taking time off of work, which is a no go during our busy season. And getting a production $bonus$ is a huge plus.
