Hey all. I just bought a brand new Amstar 150cc and from time to time it dies on the road. No spark and once in a while the battery will go dead as well. I've ordered a stator kit in hopes of repair since the place I bought it from is shady. Any other input?

Check all connections, and check for parasitic draw on the battery, but you seem pretty right in your thinking

Not much to go on. A new 150 is most likely a DC ignition. The kit you ordered. Is it spec'd specifically for your brand/model? If not, how did you know what to buy?
A dead battery will cause lose of spark, that may be your problem. A charged battery will last a while till dead. Charge or have the battery charged to test. Get a electric multimeter. Read battery volts and post: 1. key off 2. key on, on run 3. while starting 4. running at idle 5. running at higher rpm's. On most GY6 machines the RR is the most likely culprit.

If you just bought it brand new. Should have some type of warranty from where you bought it at least 30 day. Before you go taking things apart and they say you already disassembled the bike, you void your'e warranty. Call them and explain what is wrong and see if they can honor a repair.
