Does the big starter clutch on GY6 150cc motors actually turn with the crank? Or does it stay stationary once the engine gets spinning?
My scooter is converted to kick start only, and so I was wondering about possible gains from removing the starter clutch and starter. If the clutch remains stationary then im not gonna worry about it. But if it spins with the crank and the crank has to spin its weight, I'd want to take it off to lighten up the load.
Has anyone done this? Can you do it? What kind of gains/headaches are there?

If you have a actual starter clutch vs a Bendix then the clutching functionis within the clutch. So part of it spins with the crank and part of it doesn't.
