Gents I just swap the 49cc to the 80cc bore and finding the idle is off and buterfly needs to be open nearly half way to get an idle. Is this right as it has a bigger capacity? Is a bigger carb or jets needed. Thanks you much.

I think you will have to open the mixture screw about 1/2 turn. The idle mixture screw is on the left side, close to where the carb stuffs into the rubber boot of the intake. It is just above the top of the float bowl. It may be covered by a brass plug. You'll have to remove the plug to gain access to the adjustment screw. The larger piston and bore pull in more fuel:air mixture on each intake stroke, and to stay in the range of the idle circuit it will need a bit more fuel. At least that's my experience. In addition, there is a bit more friction between the rings and cylinder wall for a brand new set, which requires a bit more power to keep the engine running. Once broken in, another adjustment may be required. tom
