Need to file the front hole and use some flat washers to help clamping,kinda like this;

i'm such a dip, I was thinking I was gonna have to bend it or have my uncle reweld it. I'll bring my rotary tool home from work tomorrow. And hopefully be zipping around smiling ear to ear this weekend. I think the exhaust not lining up was the cause for it bogging above 3/4 throttle before. Came across a post on mopedarmy.com about putting rubber hose in between cooling fins to see if they're the cause of my rattle. Apparently polini(and some other manufacturers') cooling fins can pick up engine resonance and rattle. Figure what do I have to lose. Otherwise squish is at 0.7mm now thought I would've gotten more out of the 2nd base gasket. I'll likely pull it apart again since the edge of the piston is still slightly above the bottom of the exhaust port. I won't have my squish adjustment kit until monday anyway, so if I can get a couple days to ride this thing i'm gonna take full advantage of it.

Woot!!! She's all back together and running WAY better. Still has just a brief moment of bogging when snapping the throttle, but otherwise felt great. Was able to get up to 45mph during the 2 mile run around the block.

It was still rattling, but about a 1/4 the way through the ride it stopped, and was still quiet when I shut it off. I'm gonna take it for another ride in a little bit. Hopefully its gone and was just breaking-in, but if it does the same thing. I'm gonna pick up some rubber hose that'll fit in the cooling fins. The studs aren't perfectly straight, and I had to pinch them together to get on the base gaskets and cylinder. My thinking is they're rattling against the sides, and when things heat up and expand it stops.

Figure i'd do a 100mi update. Rattle is still there on startup at below 4-5k rpms which will change pace w/ rpm and mostly or completely go away when warm. Sounds to not have gotten worse, and nothing has blown up yet, hopefully a good sign, lol. Tried the hose in the cooling fins, didn't change the noise at all. Put the electric start crankshaft components back on to eliminate one of the things I changed during the build, still no change. I felt the crank end play while I had things apart, and seemed excessive, so I ordered a dial indicator to check the crank end play. Maybe a bearing? I put in my 37mm Naraku Drive Boss and moved the spacer to behind variator to see what i'd gain in top end speed, 3mph gain to 46mph. Still have to put in the stiffer clutch springs want some of that hit back on take off. Wheelied unintentionally twice before, didn't expect that w/ this build, but damn can I say i'm glad.

Good to hear you are back to ripping around . 46 mph is a nice upgrade . As the engine wears in after 500 iles or so it will loosen up and you should pick a couple miles up top .
What I like best about that kit and pipe is you pull up to a stop light and everybody thinks slow moped and you jump on it and pull out in front of them and just shoot down the road .
I had a guy ask me last year how did I make it so fast I told him nitrous .

I'll probably be 2 stroke for life, love this thing so glad I didn't turn around and flip it for easy cash.
Lol, when I was out on my 3rd or 4th ride and varying my rpms. I was behind a ~2000 mustang v6 auto. Dude was watching me through his sideview mirror as I got up to maybe 2 car lengths behind him then would back off to about 15 then speed back up. As soon as the car in front of him turned he stepped on it. So did I, don't think he expected me to be able to keep up with him, lmao.

So finally got around to installing the stiffer clutch springs(blue), was a royal PITA until I realized the malossi springs had a tighter curve on the ends compared to the stock springs. Once I flattened one side out on each spring was a lot easier. Think i'm gonna try the reds which are the stiffest in the kit I have, and see how they perform. Funny that i'm still running a tad rich and bogging at WOT w/ a 85MJ and the e-clip in the highest needle notch. My highest temp so far has been 286*F think i'll throw the stock 80MJ back in and needle at lowest notch.

Some scoots are rich out of the box . So adding a kit with a street pipe jetting might not change . Expansion pipes push higher RPMs and push jetting harder . There are Mikuni jets that are between 80 and 85 if The 80 is a tad lean .
Actually on one of the Eton builds . I down jetted with a kit and stock pipe to a 77.5 mikuni and it ran very crisp .

With your clutch springs and your kit and pipe power starts just above stock powerband .
Setting them is relatively easy . You can almost get away with a stock spring .
As you raise tension you will find one you like . Your take off will fell snappier.
When you raise it too far your take off will actually get worse . Because your variator weights will up shift you into second gear before the clutch engages .

Yup it's liking the 80MJ. No bog, acceleration is noticeably better even picked up on top speed, now getting 48. Highest temp I saw was 292. Just w/ everybody's MJ recommendations I was thinking there was something wrong w/ the bike.
It'll be much easier to just throw in the stock 38mm boss and spacer now that I think about it. Really want a crazy of a launch. Really shock the cars next to me when it lifts the front wheel off the ground and scoots right past them.

Well I'm nearing 500 miles w/ the BBK. 80Mj turned out to be slightly on the lean side regardless of needle adjustments, so switched from 40:1 to 50:1 premix to richen mixture. So far seems like I have room the lean it out a tad, but haven't bothered messing w/ it since it doesn't bog and fires up easily when the engine is hot.
Tried a Polini Hi-speed got a 49.6mph run, but didn't like the low end acceleration. Ended up ordering a Naraku Sport to compare.
My noise has stayed the same until I put on the Naraku sport variator on then it suddenly became more metallic sounding. Hoping my culprit is just rattling weights.

And... i'm not that lucky. Went to swap variators, and checked the crank end play got a nice audible clunk out of the bearing and can see movement this time around. Time to start looking at racing cranks.

Well couldn't stop at just a crank and bearings. Ended up ordering.
Polini Corsa Yasuni R Polini For Race Crank Delorto PHBG 21mm Stage6 Intake/ Reed Cage 2 sets of Crank Bearings/ Seals Tusk Case Splitter/ Crank Installer
I think I have a problem.
