Thats good to know....it starts right up....obviously initially I had to crank it a few times to fill the bowl....it seemed not to respond to a half turn either way on the mixture screw but I was able to back the idle down to about 1650. It started off there but crept up to about 2500 after it warmed up

I put the 90 in and called it a night...I'm hoping to get enough parts on it to take it out for some tuning runs

Made a couple of passes...seems to sputter taking off and then catch and smoothly accelerate with power...got up to about 270° in just under 2 miles of passes...only got it up to about 33 mph....gonna check the plug

It seems to have something going on on the low end/takeoff, or I just need to twist a bit harder. It seems to sputter a bit but if I twist it’ll pull right on through. Is this the first 30’ thing Zino was talking about? Would the 5g roller weights help that?

Did you adjust your air mixture screw any? I just installed the Malossi kit on my Zuma with the Vino 46 pilot and had to turn the screw out a couple turns from stock to get a good consistent idle/low throttle response. I am still running stock exhaust though so that is different from you but its worth checking. Zino has his about 3/4 turned out from stock position.
I guess to be more specific if you screw the idle screw all the way in then I am at 3.5 turns out total. My stock position was 1.5 turns out but not not sure all start at the same setting.

Keep your weights were they are The low end is usually clutch springs.
Dial carb in first leave the Cvt for now . The carb is more critcial to cylinder health . But I am leaning towards carb tuning with your plug . You probably having a transition from idle to needle stutter . I was ok to good at a 90 jet on a stock carb I ran that for 1/2 a year . I just bought 87.5 when I had to order other stuff it was better . I richened up the needle which means lowering it a clip.
Here is a quick tune that is safe but will lean rich Idle Set the idle mixture 2 turns out Main Set the main one jet below where it gurgles wide open .For me this was a 90 Mikuni Needle Starting with Clip in the middle run 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle note the snappiness with out a lag Think Throttle response . Go down One notch see if you like it better if so go down one more clip . You would take the richest one with the best throttle response .
Last step work the take off to 1/4 throttle range . You are going to making some runs up and down the street Idle screw Try in first which richens 1/4 turn in If better throttle response go another 1/4 turn (stop and go back 1/4 turn if it feels the same ).
Try out on idle screw If richening the first quarter turn was no better or worse . Open 1/4 turn check throttle response better go another 1/4 turn if the same go backwards
This will keep you within 1- 2 1/2 turns out on the idle screw If you feel you need to open the the air screw more than 3 turns go back to the 44.

Finally made it to the campground this evening...unloaded it and thought I'd make a couple of quick passes in the dark with the cooler air...for some reason the dash lights stopped working (LEDs), so I couldn't see the speed at all....hopefully I get time tomorrow to try some tuning!

Let the better half take it to the store....headed back it shut off on her...i I went to get her and it would start but not take load. Got it back and started it, let it idle for a while took off and it died under load....the plug looked a bit wet, so tried the 85 jet and it sputtered on the high end on a short pass attempt....had to stop and cut a tree down, so gonna go back with the 90 in the morning and move the needle clip back up to its original position....still trying to figure out if its studdering on takeoff or just looking for the rpms for clutch engagement...or it may just be me getting used to the sound of the new pipe on takeoff

This is the jet kit I have. scooterpartsco.com/ricambi/misc/jet-kit-for-mikuni-tk-teikei-50cc-2t-6mm-jets?zenid=a21318cc6c70a9faeb0d2f72a504bcd9After trying the 95 and it being worse than the 90, I raised the needle clip back to it's stock position and still had the sputter...so I tried the 85 and a new plug and got some of the best results so far. This is the new plug after about a 2 mile run. Not really a flat spot to run it out but I'm near 300 lbs and seen speeds of 46-48 mph on the varying roads and no top end sputter....I'm still not seeing much change when I adjust the mixture screw though.

85 mikuni sounds like the ticket since its not sputtering for your main the scooterpartsco mikuni jets are a knockoff jet so there may just be a casting difference. So a 85 for them may be close to my genuine 87.5 . Dial in the needle next and then work the air screw
