Are clutch springs from a GY6 150cc the same size and strength as ones from a 50cc?
Got a low mileage clutch from my former PCH150 lying around. I'm thinking about ordering some 1000 rpm clutch springs for my SYM Mio 50, and was wondering if the GY6 150 clutch springs are stronger and the same physical size?
Would hate to pull everything apart for nothing...

Would hate to pull everything apart for nothing... If its the same size clutch the springs wil probably be the same although the 150 cc spring probably wil be stronger because the 50 cc scooters have rpm restrictions and the 150 revs higher from factory

I’m pretty sure the 150cc clutch is bigger and won’t fit in a QMB.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just go ahead and order some 1000 and 1500 rpm springs, they are dirt cheap.

I did at one point get a set of 150 springs. They are a damn bear to install into a 50 clutch, but they do fit. Problem is, the clutch would always be half-engaged slipping with 150 springs so...
Worst thing one could do is always throw a set of 150 springs into your next order and try it. If you dont like it, you're out 5 bucks. Or have springs for stuff around the shop

This is kind of funny... Got some GY6 50cc 1000 rpm springs today. Got the clutch nut off like a boss with the old bang the crescent wrench on the ground trick. Lo and behold! The stock SYM Mio 50 clutch springs are much bigger, probably 150cc size, not the smaller 139QMB size. Tried to use the pick method Brent shows in his video, but those stock springs weren't coming off. I noticed the pick tool was definitely chewing up the area I was prying on, so with no new springs that fit I just put it back together. I'm sure I could have just gotten a thin blade screwdriver and pried this suckers off with a little more elbow grease, but was concerned about causing too much damage around the spring holes. Watching Brent's other video on clutch springs where he used hose pliers, it looked like the same size springs that were in my Mio 50 clutch.
