Welcome to the melted fan shroud club!!! Most of us that join ditch the outer cover and many of us cut out the grille. I'm not sure if burning a perfectly good stock setup makes Rob a prospect or the president. I think the president would have to have duct tape holding the shrouds together though.

First impressions of the Corsa vs the Street Race cylinder- The Corsa doesn’t come up on rpms as fast as the SR cylinder did. At launch it doesn’t shoot up the same. I honestly haven’t done much other than play with the idle. I just wanted to get out again. Temps seem ok. It’s in the low 90°’sF today. CHT is running between 175°-205° during mixed riding. Seems to pull fine and I have no trouble being just another motorist on my local roads. I don’t think I’ll win any drag races though unless I conveniently forget to tell the other person we are racing. The exhaust angle thing is aggravating. I like to be able to bolt on and button up. I used the thinnest shim in the kit on assembly #1 with no paper gasket and RTV grey silly-cone on both sides. Squish was .8mm. Definitely has good compression, the starter slows at full compression as it cranks. Time to park my toy and go make family dinner. 😊 Feels good to be back on two wheels again.

I did trim out a chunk directly over where the pipe was hitting prior to making the pipe hot. When I tightened up the exhaust bolts though it may have pushed a bit further up than I anticipated. PS, don’t spin the motor by hand using the fan when the exhaust is that close. There isn’t room for fingers to fit between the fan and pipe.

Around 1000? I put that on not long after I bought the scooter. After hearing too many walking stories I had bought that from VMC. It was a Gates belt 792 size. Probably from page one of the build.

I just checked, I was 3.4 miles away from home. Probably 400 feet in elevation higher also. At least I was on top of a hill. I was able to coast for at least 2 of the 3.5 miles.

I know the feeling I once had 99% of the gas to get to gas station but 99% is not a 100 % that 1 % was about a quarter mile .
I have got thousands of miles out of a stock belt and bando belts .
A few of the after market belts are actually Bando .

Oh lordy that belts a mess your CVT is a bomb site,I hate to be evangelical but my commuter build belt is years\miles old gets checked once twice a year and just plods on,I was lucky enough to have the OE belt on there when I got it and have stuck with the same length just a mm wider than stock is on there now and I think it will see me out. I can,t think of way of finding the correct size other than buying the O.E one for your chassis number, the spurious parts catalogues have been corrupted by time and various methods of measurement.advice/rant over
Geoff
Edit after note from rob ,his scoot has a modified TD and other transmission parts so a stock belt would not suit this build.

I guess I should carry a 8mm and a 18mm pkus socket handle and a spare belt and a locking tool under the seat.

I tried using these carbon reeds Ryan sent along but they won’t lay flat against the openings. I flipped them over and tried loosening them slightly thinking I was over tightening them into the plastique housing. No luck. Steel reeds going back in.

I like the carbon fiber reeds, or rather I should say that I want to like the carbon fiber reeds, but I haven't had a great experience with them as well. Used a set of Malossi's on the 70cc and they were nice, but they chipped pretty easy.
Are you gonna throw a Kevlar belt on there or go with standard?
