I have been wanting a shifty scooter for a while now but couldnt find a cheap one. All the PX models around here sell for $2000+ in non-running shape. Well a Genuine Stella 2T turned up on Facebook marketplace for $700. It runs OK, shifts OK but is missing the left cowl that covers the spare tire, the glovebox and the exhaust pipe. The body has some dents that need to be worked. Its in rough-er shape but seems repairable. Mechanically it seems good. The real issue is two-fold. The guy who owns it was given it in a trade and he doesnt know anything about it, not even the year. It also does not have a title. It has a key and nothing seems to have been tampered with so my *guess* is that its not stolen? I know I can get this thing titled because of the Vermont loopholes. I am just nervous about purchasing a scooter like this in this kind of shape with a title issue. Are these Stella's worth it? Im really out of my element with this type of machine. However the grip shifter beckons and I am temped by its call. What do I do fellas?

Save your $$ to get one in better shape and with a title. If it's not old enough I dont think you can get a title for it.

Buy it and tinker. What else do you have to do?
You can find cowls and gloveboxes pretty easily.

If it was this side the pond I would buy it at that price for sure

I would buy it that is a good price . Scooters are like Gold right now on facebook . Parts scoots are selling for not much less than that .
Last year you could throw some somebody a hundred dollar bill and tow away a non running scoot . Now its 500 bucks because its rare
