Hi everybody, my first post here, I bought my kids a couple of SMC Quadzilla Ram 100 quads, they were both good things until they both lost their sparks...Neither has ever had a battery fitted whilst we had them I've tried inter changing parts to try and diagnose the problem and got nowhere. Tried bypassing the safety cut outs Tried a new plug, plug cap, top coil and CDI Got told it was a minarelli same as a Neos 100, bought a new stator and barrel/ piston as one of them is quite worn. Stator is the wrong number of coils and the barrel is too large to fit the cases so I guess this is wrong.....
This is the original stator, center hole is 29mm, mounting holes are 42mm apart, pickup mounting holes are 37mm and the stator diameter is about 82.5mm A new stator is available from Quadzilla but at GB£120 its a expensive part without knowing it will cure it. Can anybody identify an aftermarket stator that will fit and work?

Dodgerover, welcome to the forum,on the left of this screen is the directory click on it and you get to the tech section "no start" help part.if you work your way through each component you should find the solution.just off the cuff guess work I would check all the earth points and the signal pick up sensor.the stator is often thought to be a problem but they are usually OK.keep asking till it,s sorted.£120 day light robbery. Oh I forgot to mention ask the "kids" if they meddled with them.I lost a weekend when a yuooff put high octane petrol in a scoot and "forgot" till we condemned his scoot.

Sorry forgot to mention I had gone through every connection and cleaned them up, also ran an additional earth wire from engine to frame just to make sure.
They didn't both so at the same time, one failed and got put to the side for when I had time to fix it, then a few months later the other one lost its spark as well. Kids haven't 'fixed' them, they learned their lesson after filling up their lt50 with water.....

Is that just going on the sizes? I'll double check them with calipers and order one - it has a different plug fitted but that's not an issue.
That video is actually pretty helpful except I have no values to compare against - will compare one to the other though. I think both starter motors are broken as when we did try a battery they spun but didn't turn the engines.

It looks the same. Mounting holes look same sizes. Not sure if you measured centre to center? Different connections. But easy fix. Would be surprised if it's not right. The Chinese companies tend to use the same parts on multiple applications.
