Hi Im pretty new to this sort of thing but would welcome any feedback. I was given a water cooled Aerox 2013 which had seized on the owner and then basically left to rot outside . I thought it would be an interesting project and it has been a learning curve because although I am a biker and decent with mechanical knowledge I had never worked on these 'twist snd go' bikes. So as you can imagine massive strip down, panels off, stuff cleaned, painted resprayed etc etc. Took the engine out and yes it was well and truly seized solid and I mean solid.
So basically, I stripped it all down, new crank, bearings and seals all done beautifully in freezer and oven, new cylinder, piston, variator, clutch, belts, oil pump, carburettor, inlet manifold, reed valve, starter motor, new exhaust, basically replaced everything for new. Original cylinder head seemed fine so put it back on. Got new battery everything ready for grand starting....and not a peep out of her. Turns over beautifully with plenty compression, fat wonderful spark that jumps 20mm on the tester, fuel going into carb but therein Im a bit lost. Could the fuel be the problem? Where would you go from here. Is it the carb, the reed valve........... What do you do with a brand new carb? Ive read the manuals watched the vids on Utube, have I just missed something really stupid? But there is not a glimmer of this engine wanting to kick into life. Im lost as Ive chucked some money at it, resprayed panels, brand new brakes, tyres etc, it will look mint when put back together, but the engine just wont have it. Grateful for any hints or tips which I will try deffo!
just checked flywheel for TDC centre today and found that the woodruff key has sheared so will let you know how i get on after fixing this!!!
