Hi Peeps , I start to experiment with my 50cc minareli ( chinese ) scooter first i put Gianelli Rekord Exhaust with 4,2g rollers my stock variator was almost gone so i replace it with Multivar and i believe 7g rollers 16x13
now it have better acceleration and smooth speed but it have hard time to go from 50km to 60 ( top speed 65km/h ) should i try with lighter rollers 6 or 5,5 grams ?

I would say your problem is likely with the stiffer contra spring.

You likely need a stock spring or a white spring. Using a spring that is too stiff does not allow the CVT to shift completely.

You only really need a stiff enough spring to stop belt slip. You will probably find those rollers are too heavy when you change the contra spring. The rollers that come with the variator, are for a stock engine.

I was always thinking that racing springs was better then stock , but looks i need to hit right combination also another notice, while driving it drops rpm too early , is that caused by belt slip or not good setup with rollers and clutch ?

It is a balancing act with each part of the CVT. If you fit a very stiff contra spring. You have to compensate with heavy rollers. Robbing you of power. The heavy rollers will keep the revs lower. And What clutch springs you fit can make a difference.

Take a sharpie from the inner to outer edge Run down the road full blast and see if you are getting full belt travel The malossi variator can get below 2mm wwith proper weights and shimming

You want to pick weights that give you full belt travel and that hit a rpm when you hit the throttle wide open and then rise till you hit top speed . If they rise than fall on the way up your weights are either way too light or heavy.
The way I do it I take the lightest weights that give me highest speed and full belt travel That way I get best acceleration and Top speed. This is the way I would do it cut 6 similar size pieces that way about a gram a piece of aluminum foil . You need to make it small enough so you can fold it up and put in each roller
Run all 4 note top speed and how it feels Run 4 and 1/2 aluminum with the 4 Like this for balance 4,4a,4,4a,4,4a note how they feel and Top speed Run all 4 with aluminum in them . run 1/2 4 with alumin and 1/2 7 grams like this 4a,7,4a,7,4a,7 . One of these will give you the best Top speed and feel the most power by your butt dyno. What ever weight that averages out to is the rollers that I would buy.

For the clutch springs They do nothing for top speed they are for best takeoff You want the springs that have you jump off the line by having you start at the beginning of the powerband .
If you roll slow for 20 feet and then take off go up to the next stiffer spring . The yellow should be more than stiff enough the white might just be enough for that pipe.
Contra Just enough tension to stop belt slip and keeps belt wear and heat down for a street build Stock might be enough or the White Malossi Yellow is probably over kill
Red is for racing and where you want good down shifting out of corners you will get alot of extra heat and wear out belts But Racers rebuild the Trans after every race and replace the belts

Go with the white Contra .. The Springs compress to the same height . How much tension they have at that point is what is most important .
