Hello, just signing in, thanks for having me. I bought my wife a 2018 Honda Metropolitan 50cc 4T and it's so fun, I bought a 2003 Yamaha Vino 50cc 2T that was wrecked, but ran. Cleaned it up, derestricted it and whoa, love it! It does 40+ easy, even up hill it doesn't bog like the 2018 Honda Met. Two strokes are so fun! I did suffer a piston failure after is starved for oil, not sure why. I ordered an oil pump from AliExpress as no one else had one and a piston kit from ScooterPartsCo. Waiting for them to arrive, install and get back out riding.

Welcome to the forum, you need to find out why the engine failed or you may just cook the new piston.

Welcome to the forum. It's good to see you have seen the error of your ways. And purchased a two stroke. 😉 Seriously though, we love all scooters.

Good to you have you aboard . Those Vinos are easy to make fast . I have matching pairs if you are ordering from scooterpartsco I highly recommend adding on a malossi wild lion pipe . It will add even more power and speed to your Vino

Well, I couldn't figure out the problem, sold it as-is.
…and botught a 2002, same miles (4,XXX), and runs great. I've ridden it about 200 miles so far! I removed the variator spacer, but haven't grinded out teh exhaust restrictor yet.

There's a few 60+mph Vino builds on here.
Mine is still not dialed in with the carb tuning but I hit 56.7mph last time I rode it. It was put away for the winter before I could finalize the jetting. Then I got an old Vespa that's been the focus of my time now.
They are fast monsters. Put a 70cc kit on it and a Malossi Wild lion like Vino said and say goodbye to all the cars you pass. Plenty of people here to help sort out the issues you may encounter. Like the issue you had with the other one... could have just went to premix and not worried about the oil pump at all.
There's a bunch of OEM Yamaha parts sites you can get pretty much anything you need.

You can tune the roller weights in the Metropolitan to handle hills better and improve overall acceleration.

Welcome aboard: Yes, 2t's are much more fun. Owned 2 of each. Current scoot is 4t. Feel it on the uphills, but pretty peppy otherwise.
