looks like someone has stolen your CVT cover.... Sooo clean. Does it look like that now? Does the 'frame' replacing the CVT cover have enough rigidity to take the place of a more solid cover? When installed, the cover adds a good bit of strength to the rest(left side) of the crankcase/gearbox. Sure does look good. tom I was worried about the strength w/o the cover so I put an engine brace on it. Makes a three point connection helps support everything. The brace takes all the weight instead of the case.

I see Juetsrus.com has them along with many dealers. They are very easy to find. I am just asking for one that is stock style that you guys recommend so I do not have to buy multiple to find a good one. So if someone or a group of you have a consensus on a good one I would appreciate the link to it.
Many posts have been made with "they are sold at location X but I have not heard if they are any good". My first carb was from location X without taking your guys opinions into consideration. I am trying to avoid that again.
Please dont use my question to post pad or show off mods.

I wish the picture was more clear. Is there a 'plate' up against the surface of the crankcase half? The normal CVT cover forms a monocoque construct - a hollow tube - that is less deformable and stronger than otherwise. Unless you replace the outer 'half of the tube', the strength is reduced. I do not know how much, BUT have seen pictures of cases that have failed. It needs something that is the equivalent of the outer cover. You want something that is '3D' rather than flat, FWIW. That is if I understand how that suff works. If I don't, then never mind. Really nice looking, IMO. Annnnndddd you will likely have cooler clutch, belt and variator than about any other one on the road. tom

I ordered one from a place in Canada. Have not installed it yet. Its a Naraku. If I can find time in the next few days I will install it. I do not know how they got it to me so fast. Scootertuning.CA

That firm has a good rep from all I have heard. I have purchased from aliexpress, a pair of Keihin, and from ebay vendors and was happy with what I got. I bought one for $17 delivered, and it was as good as all the rest I have seen, better than some. Worked fine with no problems. I now have a selection of used carbs that I may fiddle with. Some have had the diaphragm & slide(apprently) replaced with non-fitting parts, and they don't work well. Some seem to need the bowl cleaned more than I knew to do when first mucking about with these little gems. One had the idle mixture adjusting screw fall out. Others have needed the accelerator pump link adjusted. Most have had the pilot jet plugged due to sitting around turning fuel into gunk. FWIW, they need to be run at least weekly, IMO. Draining totally dry may preclude need to be run. tom

I finally had a chance to put on the Naraku from Scootertuning.CA. I have done no tunning I have not even touched the idle. Once It was full of gas it started and ran instantly. It is good enough only has a slight hesitation when first starting to roll the throttle. Overall I am happy if it continues as it is.

www.partsforscooters.com/search?keywords=carbs%2018mm&page=1 maybe they have an 18mm the guys here know lots of places to find reliable carbs . someone will know actually we didn't argue at all . I was just letting him know that after calling all over the US to Keihin distributors , I found out that Keihin doesn't make carbs for scooters ; only motorcycles
Well that is some what of a bummer. But at the same time I look forward to one of the guys that have had good luck with a particular dealer posting up a link. I have purchased parts from partsforscooters.com I just dont want to find out in a bad way if I should trust their supplier of carbs. Hopefully they can be trusted not just as a source of carbs but as a source of reliable carbs with a reference from this forum. Well, if we sell you something and it's not up to the standard that we present it as, I own the company so you can take it up with me. Anyway, if someone is looking for a better than stock replacement carb for unmodified QMB139 engine, here you go. www.partsforscooters.com/151-273-Premium-50cc-CarburetorAdjustable, 1mm larger than stock and just works well. We inspect every batch, and I personally went to China to vet the vendor. Matt
