So picked up another 05 Beamer Saturday. At 3PM By 9PM Think it's safe to say it needs a new crank. Think for now it'll get Lil Blue's leftovers, but i'm really tempted to do a naked LC build with this and copy Brent's T2 crank driven belt idea. Instead of driving a water pump I was thinking of an Alternator, so I could add a sound system since I have this sitting in my garage collecting dust. But that'll probably be a little ways off. Still need to save up and get me a lathe and a welder.

Bring it new life! (Yes that's the beamer I posted about).
You made haste on that disassembly!

Been primarily focused on getting my other build running perfect. Contessa and Athena HPC Crank are installed. 0.7mm squish/150psi. Took it on the first ride mid-April, immediately brought it back and stripped all the plastics.. Throttle was messed up wouldn't go past halfway so installed the Stage6 quick throttle I had in my spare parts bin. Had to delete the headlight/starter switch to get it to fit. Installed bar end mirrors. Turn Signals would stop working when you hit bumps, luckily that was just a bad ground at the battery. Right now carb tuning, needs a bigger pilot jet, so that's the plan for today. Hopefully be able to get a test drive in in between the rain. Then be able to move onto fine tuning the CVT. Need to paint front rim and mount new tire and a new center stand current one is bent beyond fixing.

So I stumbled upon these in my attempt to find a way around getting a lathe. Special rear shock nuts for NA & NB Miatas. Of course the one package the USPS didn't lose was the one with the stuff I was in no rush to get. Threw them on the scoot to measure runout, 0.004" on one ~0.0035" on the other. Thought that wasn't too bad. Checked what kind of runout was acceptable in the automotive industry. 0.002" for brake rotors 0.00157" for camshafts... crap i'll keep saving for a lathe.
