Picked up this very beat up Yamati RX8i today. It's pretty beat to hell cosmetically, but the frame seems sound. Horizontal chinese minarelli. According previous owner it was 2nd engine. They gave me the original as well, which I'm sure is seized, but hey, how often do people just give you an engine? So that will be a fun project as well. I got the beat up plastics off. Man, there's been a lot of wire splicing. Previous has wired speakers and an old school car cigarette lighter into it. 😵 Anyway, should be a fun project through the winter. Will keep updates posted. Finally got all the plastics off. Lots of wire splices in the main harness.

Check your engine code. Could be a 1E40FM, which is basically a set of 90cc cases filled with 49cc parts (slightly different than the standard 49cc stuff). If that's the case, you should be able to get a stroker crank and a 52-54mm bore and build a ~100cc pretty easily.

Nice project. Should be good once you sort out the spaghetti.

Same dash/upper plastics as my Keeway F-act Yessir! Looked exactly like your photo. It was completely screwed. Had been sitting in the sun for a while and with all the weird wiring, I didn't have much hope.

Nice project. Should be good once you sort out the spaghetti. Truth. Homeboy was up to some weird business when he started splicing into harness. This thing had an old school cigarette lighter, household usb charger, a computer speaker, and a car stereo wired to it! 😵. Alligator clips and heat shrink as well as crimp on couplers all over the place. I think I gotta start from scratch. Just too much weirdness here. Lol.

With the exception of the damn clock and that irks me.

Lol! 😂 Still, it was a free engine, so I will call that a win any day. Am hopeful I can get her sorted out. Got the PB Blaster sitting in the cylinder which seems to be locked at top dead center. I'm a keep hitting it with that stuff and slowly work it to see if I can get it free. For now, I'm a let it soak.

So I have a couple questions... What was this guy on when he did this? Did he use a drill on this thing? Poor air screw is completely mangled as is every other screw on this carb.

Looks like the only screw driver he had, was hammer shaped.

he needed more leverage- so he widened the slot - for a larger screwdriver. -- of course . that was after the needlenose vice grips didn't work .

Spent a couple hours yesterday after work freeing up the seized engine. It went a lot better than I could have expected. Piston was frozen just short of TDC. Was able to get the head off, and I just soaked everything with PB Blaster.
After letting everything sit for about 30 min, I took a scrap piece of iron pipe and a steel hammer and started shocking the piston. No serious whacks, just firm taps right down center of piston. After a couple taps, start working crank back and forth by hand followed by a couple more taps. Every time piston moved, I hit it with another shot of PB and let it sit for about 15 min. Then repeat process.
On the third round of this, piston broke free and I could move the piston easily turning the crank by hand. It certainly wasn't smooth. Lotta grit in there, but I was able to get the cylinder off.
From what I could see down in the crankcase, there was a butt load of rust all over the crank assembly. I don't trust this engine, so I'm going to completely dismantle and rebuild.

At least you will know exactly what your dealing with. No good spending money if it's not going to be 100%.
